Sustainability Solutions Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sustainability Solutions Engineer based in Canada.

This is a high-impact, customer-facing technical role focused on bridging sustainability, environmental compliance, and enterprise SaaS solutions. You will act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the sales cycle, helping prospective clients understand how digital sustainability and risk management platforms can solve complex operational challenges. The role blends solution engineering, pre-sales strategy, and subject matter expertise in ESG and environmental systems. You will partner closely with sales teams to design demonstrations, lead technical discovery, and ensure solutions are aligned with client needs. Operating at the intersection of sustainability and technology, you will translate complex requirements into clear, value-driven solutions. This is a fast-paced, collaborative environment where your expertise directly influences customer adoption and business growth.

Accountabilities:
  • Support the sales organization by providing technical expertise, solution design, and value-driven positioning of sustainability and environmental software products.
  • Lead technical discovery sessions, product demonstrations, and solution scoping activities across the sales cycle.
  • Translate client sustainability, ESG, and operational risk needs into tailored software configurations and proof-of-concept solutions.
  • Own and manage the RFP process, including maintaining a knowledge base of responses and ensuring high-quality, accurate submissions.
  • Develop and deliver compelling product demonstrations for stakeholders at all levels, from operational users to executive leadership.
  • Act as a key technical liaison between prospects and internal teams, providing feedback from the field to inform product and sales strategy.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to build presentations, configure demos, and refine solution messaging based on client needs.
  • Train and support sales colleagues on product capabilities, technical positioning, and competitive differentiation.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of competitive products, market trends, and sustainability software landscapes.
  • Participate in industry events, conferences, and trade shows, representing the solution through presentations and live demonstrations.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Pre-Sales Engineering, or similar B2B SaaS technical sales roles.
  • 2+ years of experience in sustainability, ESG, environmental, or related enterprise software domains.
  • Strong technical expertise in SaaS platforms, cloud technologies, and enterprise software architecture.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and pre-sales technical enablement platforms.
  • Strong business acumen with a consultative, sales-oriented mindset focused on solving customer pain points.
  • Experience designing and delivering product demos, proof-of-concepts, and technical sales presentations.
  • Understanding of document automation, workflow optimization, or business process automation is an asset.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across sales, product, and engineering teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation including base salary of CA$123,000–CA$165,000 and OTE of CA$164,000–CA$192,000.
  • Comprehensive health benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Retirement savings plan with company matching and immediate vesting.
  • Paid time off, floating holidays, and flexible holiday policies.
  • Mental health support and employee assistance programs at no cost.
  • Life insurance and additional voluntary benefit options.
  • Flexible work environment supporting balance and autonomy.
  • Opportunity to work at the intersection of sustainability, technology, and enterprise transformation.
  • Exposure to cutting-edge ESG and environmental risk management solutions.
