Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to support our employees and business operations across our Davenport and Clinton locations. This role serves as a key resource for employees and leadership, providing support in recruiting, employee relations, payroll, benefits administration, onboarding, performance management, policy administration, compliance, and HR recordkeeping.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can balance administrative responsibilities with employee support while maintaining confidentiality and building strong working relationships throughout the organization. We are looking for someone who is willing to work/split time between our Clinton and Davenport locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Employee Relations & HR Support

  • Provide support for employee questions regarding policies, procedures, benefits, payroll, attendance, and employment matters
  • Assist managers with employee relations issues, performance concerns, coaching, and corrective action documentation
  • Supports HR Manager with investigations involving workplace concerns and policy violations, as needed
  • Ensure consistent application of company policies and practices
  • Assist with employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and company events

Recruiting & Talent Acquisition

  • Responsible for the full-cycle recruiting process for assigned positions
  • Review applications, screen candidates, coordinate interviews, and facilitate hiring decisions
  • Prepare offer letters and onboarding documentation
  • Coordinate pre-employment background checks and drug screenings

Onboarding & Training

  • Facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding programs
  • Maintain onboarding materials, training records, and employee files via physical and electronic files
  • Assist with development and maintenance of job descriptions and training materials
  • Support employee development and training initiatives

Payroll & HRIS Administration

  • Assistance in processing bi-weekly payroll and ensure accuracy of employee data, as needed
  • Review and audit timecards, attendance records, and payroll changes
  • Maintain employee information within Paylocity and other HR systems
  • Generate reports and assist with HR metrics and recordkeeping

Benefits Administration

  • Administer employee benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations
  • Coordinate retirement plan eligibility and enrollment activities
  • Assist with annual open enrollment and benefits communication
  • Assist with distributing required employee notices and compliance documents

Compliance & Administration

  • Maintain employee personnel files and HR records in compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Monitor attendance programs and notify management of attendance concerns
  • Assist with leave administration and employee status changes
  • Support compliance initiatives, audits, and reporting requirements
  • Assist with bonus, profit-sharing, and employee recognition
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered
  • Minimum of 3 years of Human Resources experience
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
  • Experience with HRIS systems, preferably Paylocity
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing, transportation, warehousing, or distribution environments
  • Payroll and benefits administration experience

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use a computer for extended periods
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to travel between company locations as needed
