Fortis-IPOC is seeking a Production Operator for a full-time contract position at our Toronto facility.
The initial contract duration is eight (8) months, with the possibility of extension or permanent employment based on performance and business needs.
Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing, the Production Operator II will support the manufacturing of our blood plasma separation membranes, including formulation, casting, coating, inspection, and labeling processes.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport various aspects of product manufacturing and assembly including formulation, casting, coating, inspection, and in-process testing of membranes.
Follow and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and established work instructions.
Accurately complete batch records and manufacturing documentation.
Assist with the setup, operation, and routine maintenance of production equipment.
Prepare polymers and raw materials for membrane production.
Ensure completion of work according to production schedules and departmental priorities.
Maintain departmental documentation including database updates, inventory records, and logbooks.
Identify potential defects or quality issues during production and report them appropriately.
Provide input to process improvements and assist with development of improved manufacturing procedures.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
1–2 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or packaging environment preferred.
Experience operating manufacturing equipment and performing routine inspections.
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office or similar software).
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Experience following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) or documented work instructions.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Hourly Pay Range: $19.00 – $20.00 per hour
Compensation within this range will be determined based on skills, experience, and internal equity.
