Job Summary

The Countertop Repair Technician plays a critical role in supporting the new construction and remodeling housing markets by completing countertop repairs in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner. This position works closely with customers, project teams, and the Countertop Fabrication Manager to ensure repairs are completed accurately and professionally. Success in this role means repairs are performed to quality standards, customers receive outstanding service, and documentation is completed accurately and on time. This position includes frequent travel to commercial and residential job sites.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Travel to commercial and residential customer locations to complete countertop repairs for damaged or broken product, including items both in and out of warranty.
  • Review daily repair orders and plan service routes efficiently based on customer needs and geographic location.
  • Communicate directly with customers to confirm repair schedules and provide updates as needed.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service while performing repair work on-site.
  • Communicate with the Countertop Fabrication Manager regarding technical support, parts requests, or repair concerns.
  • Complete accurate service reports documenting time worked and repairs performed.
  • Lift or move items, including appliances or materials, as needed to safely perform repairs.
  • Assist with warehouse inventory as requested to ensure parts availability for upcoming repairs.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures while working in warehouse and field environments.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in countertop fabrication or repair with knowledge of various repair methods.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) standards at time of hire and throughout employment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted on a regular basis.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Basic math skills sufficient to record measurements, calculate fractions and percentages, convert square footage, and complete basic financial transactions.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Five or more years of countertop fabrication or repair experience.
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Experience supporting project teams.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

  • Stationary Position: Ability to stand for extended periods while performing repairs.
  • Mobility: Frequent movement between warehouse locations and commercial or residential job sites.
  • Lifting/Carrying: Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Positioning: May be required to work in confined spaces and adjust positioning while performing repairs.
  • Manual Dexterity: Frequently operates tools, repair equipment, and standard office equipment.
  • Communication: Ability to effectively communicate with customers, team members, and management.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Warehouse/Showroom: Work performed in warehouse or showroom environments.

  • Job Site/Field: Frequent travel to residential and commercial job sites. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions and varying seasonal climates.
  • Driving: Regular driving required in various weather conditions.
  • May occasionally be required to meet tight deadlines.
