In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting clients through medication administration, psychosocial activities, and daily living assistance. Our Assisted Living Program is committed to delivering Psychosocial Rehabilitation, focusing on recovery, community integration, and enhancing overall quality of life. Reporting to the Program Manager, our selected candidate will assist clients both in residence and the community to enhance their independence by connecting them with local resources and support services. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary clinical team, the Mental Health Worker will help clients access community programs and participates in care planning to align with their recovery goals. Responsibilities will include monitoring client well-being, supporting daily living activities, and facilitating engagement in physical, recreational, and educational activities. The role will also involve evaluating client progress, advocating for client rights, managing emergencies, and maintaining accurate progress reports.

The ideal candidate for this position must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience, including a Mental Health Worker or Residential Care Aide certificate. They must possess a current Level I First Aid certificate, FoodSafe Certificate, and an unrestricted Class 5 Driver’s License. Preferred qualifications include access to a reliable vehicle, relevant lived experience, and a Medication Administration Certificate.

Key skills include strong organizational and time management abilities, group facilitation, independent and team work, crisis de-escalation, and a solid understanding of harm reduction, trauma-informed approaches, and psychosocial rehabilitation. The candidate should be adept at working with individuals with substance misuse issues or untreated mental illness, and demonstrate effective communication and physical capability to perform job duties.

This role requires the incumbent to undergo a Police Information Check (PIC), and a Vulnerable Sector Check by the Ministry of Justice.
