KGI Wireless is growing and looking for a skilled Crew Leader (Foreman) to join our team. This position is responsible for leading the construction, maintenance, troubleshooting, switching, and restoration of overhead and underground electric distribution systems while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, operational excellence, reliability, and customer service. The Crew Leader (Foreman) will oversee daily crew activities, coordinate jobsite execution, and ensure all work is performed in accordance with KGI client standards and industry best practices.

Supervisory Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough tail boards, job briefings and hazard recognition prior to beginning work activities
- Take ownership of material staging and crew readiness
- Lead crews in the construction, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of overhead and underground electric distribution systems
- Direct and coordinate distribution switching to maintain reliability for customers
- Support and mentor distribution lineman/apprentices/and groundman
- Maintain and operate digger derrick trucks, bucket trucks, stringing machines, back yard equipment, and all other necessary equipment utilized within the electric utility industry
- Provide storm restoration and mutual aid services
- Deep knowledge in transformer configurations in both underground and overhead applications
- Thorough understanding in grid modernization and reliability equip utilized within distribution networks including but not limited to the operation, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the following: Re-closures, TripSavers, distribution capacitors, distribution regulators, sectionalizing devices, automatic throwover (ATO), 3 phase underground switchgear, SCADA operated fault finders, etc.
- Respond to emergency call outs during severe weather events
- Maintain construction standards and specifications required by KGI’s clients
- Support a safe work environment for KGI employees
- Ensure the crew maintains professionalism and integrity when performing tasks
- Discuss crew performance, operational concerns, and employee development opportunities with Utility Operations Leadership
- Participate in monthly safety meetings & contribute to maintaining a strong safety culture
- Operate company vehicles in accordance with Federal, State, local and company policies
- Responsible for maintaining client’s confidential information and business practices
- EZective communication of organizational policies and other important information to subordinates
- Skilled in time management, conflict resolution, and prioritizing and managing shifting priorities
- Ability to understand information both verbally and in writing
- Ability to successfully submit 811 locates and on occasion white line for locating purposes
- Maintain proper attendance and adherence to all KGI’s attendance policies
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- The employee may be required to stand, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel and squat
- The employee may be required to sit or stand for long periods of time
- The employee may be required to lift, carry, push, pull or move up to 50 pounds
- The employee may be required to travel within South-Central Texas
- The employee must be available for storm restoration call outs
- The employee will routinely utilize Personal Protective Equipment
- The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions including wet and/or humid conditions
- The employee (on occasion) will be required to climb poles
- The employee will be required to successfully complete annual hurt man rescue training
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud
- This position may be required to work more than 40 hours per week
Minimum qualifications
- Successful completion of DOL requirements for Journeyman
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 7+ years of experience as a Journeyman Lineman
- Valid Texas Class A CDL
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening, background screening, and fit-for-duty requirements
