Emergency Medical Technician in Osceola, Missouri at Citizens Memorial

Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) is hiring an Emergency Medical Technician to join our team in the Emergency Medical Services Department in St. Clair Co., Missouri. CMH is made up of 34 primary and specialty clinics, 6 Long-Term Care facilities and 1 residential care facility. About the area: The seat of St. Clair Co., Osceola, Missouri, is nestled along the Osage River and Truman Lake. This close-knit community of just under 1000 residents is known for excellent outdoor recreation, including boating, fishing, camping and some of the best hunting in Missouri. Osceola also offers charming locally-owned retail shops and artisan galleries.

About the department: CMH Emergency Medical Services provides ambulance services to three counties in southwest Missouri: Polk, Hickory and St. Clair. Services include 9-1-1 emergency response and non-emergency medical transport. Ambulances are equipped with advanced medical life support for adult and pediatric patients. Ambulances are staffed by EMTs and paramedics who are licensed and certified to provide exceptional and compassionate care.

A typical day will include: Utilizing equipment, supplies, and procedures appropriate to the ages of the patients served, including neonate, infant / pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations for the subsequent duties:

• Responds to emergency calls to provide treatment and care to patients of all ages
• Prepares and maintains ambulances, equipment, and inventory of supplies
• Assesses and determines scene safety, and/or utilizes community/organizational resources to assure scene safety
• Initiates advanced life support and makes an accurate initial assessment of patients' conditions
• Transports patients, utilizes other methods of transportation, or relinquishes patient care as per state guidelines and / or medical control
• Documents a complete assessment on each patient examined using understandable language and / or organization-approved abbreviations

Job Requirements:

• Education: Appropriate EMT training course
• Experience: 1year of experience preferred
• Skills: Customer service, medical terminology, ability to remain professional and calm during high stress and crisis situations
• Licensure/Certification: Current Missouri Driver's License (Class E) is required, as well as an active Missouri EMT license
• Physical: Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods and to lift up to 50 lbs. with and without assistance

The position is: Full-time nights - 7am-7pm
