SUMMARY OF THE ROLE


The Reliability Specialist supports the Lead Reliability Specialist in overseeing and executing the Reliability Improvement process, including Threats & Opportunities Management (TOM), for NextDecade’s Rio Grande LNG (RGLNG) facilities. This role contributes to achieving plant reliability and availability targets by assisting in the implementation of reliability strategies, processes, and performance initiatives.

The Reliability Specialist works as an integral member of the Reliability team and plays a key supporting role in driving continuous improvement across plant operations. The position will be based in Brownsville, TX.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide direct support to the Lead Reliability Specialist in the execution of reliability and asset performance initiatives.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Reliability Improvement Process under the direction of the Lead Reliability Specialist.
  • Support the management of plant/production-impacting events, ensuring proper tracking, analysis, and follow-up actions.
  • Assist the Lead Reliability Specialist in facilitating the Threats & Opportunities Management (TOM) process.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) processes and help facilitate RCA workshops.
  • Support and contribute as an SME in Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) studies to enhance equipment reliability and optimize maintenance costs.
  • Assist in the optimization of equipment maintenance strategies in coordination with cross-functional teams.
  • Support the operation and maintenance of the Asset Performance Management (APM) system.
  • Apply reliability engineering tools and methodologies to analyze reliability, availability, and failure trends, and recommend improvement opportunities.
  • Work with Engineering and Operations teams to support the implementation of condition monitoring programs.
  • Contribute to achieving Reliability team Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and business targets.
  • Provide analytical and technical support to reliability initiatives led by the Lead Reliability Specialist.
MINUMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Trade certification or equivalent industry experience required (Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline preferred).
  • Minimum of one (1) implementation of a Reliability Management function in Oil & Gas, LNG, Petrochemical, or Refining industries.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of LNG experience in a reliability engineering role.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in reliability, maintenance, or asset integrity engineering within upstream, midstream, or downstream sectors.
  • Experience supporting or facilitating RCM workshops.
  • Experience supporting or facilitating RCA processes.
PREFFERED REQUIREMENTS:
  • SAP S4 HANA Experience
Job Site Work Environment
Must be able to wear all necessary PPE equipment to perform job functions.
Operates in a complex construction environment.
Exposure to indoor and outdoor weather conditions.
Not necessarily protected from weather and temperature changes. Possible exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy weather conditions.
Exposure to moving mechanical parts and electrical circuits.
Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds of a pitch level sufficient to cause marked distraction.
Routinely uses standard office and field communications equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers w/scanner and fax, and radios.

Ability to drive to other Company work locations as required.

The incumbent is required to have fully mechanical motion and usage of all extremities.
Physically able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle, and lift items weighing up to 20 lbs. without assistance.
Visual acuity corrected to perform job functions. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to clearly communicate with others via radio, phone, and verbal methods.
May be required to enter confined spaces.
May be required to work at elevated heights and access elevated structures without assistance.
