About the Opportunity:

Do you have a DZ license, experience transporting heavy equipment, and a knack for delivering exceptional service? Proline Rentals & Bins is looking for a dependable, safety-conscious Equipment Delivery Person (Level 2) to join our Port Carling crew. You'll play a vital frontline operational role delivering, loading, securing, and picking up a wide variety of medium-to-heavy rental equipment and building materials (such as excavators, skid steers, boom lifts, compaction equipment, and bins) across local homes, cottages, commercial, and construction sites.

What You Bring:

We’re looking for someone professional, punctual, and team-oriented who takes pride in keeping their truck safe and their deliveries on point. You exhibit strong integrity, reliability, and accountability while solving problems independently in fast-paced job site environments.

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent (post-secondary in Heavy Equipment Operation, Mechanical, or Construction-related field is an asset)
  • Valid Class "DZ" Ontario Driver's License in good standing with a current clean Driver's Abstract
  • Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration (CVOR) abstract in good standing and solid understanding of MTO load securement rules and hours-of-service regulations
  • 2 to 3 years of verifiable commercial driving experience operating DZ class flatbeds, roll-offs, or tilt-decks
  • Experience in commercial construction equipment rental, building materials delivery, or heavy equipment transport preferred
  • Hands-on familiarity operating compact heavy equipment (mini-excavators, skid steers, track loaders, scissor lifts, boom lifts) to drive them on and off delivery decks
  • Valid Boom Truck Operator Certificate (0–8 ton or equivalent) is a strong asset
  • Solid knowledge of roads throughout Muskoka and surrounding areas
  • Physical stamina required for extended driving, climbing onto decks/flatbeds, strapping and chaining machinery, bending, crouching, and lifting up to 50 lbs independently (and up to 80 lbs with assistance)
  • Ability to work outdoors across various job sites exposed to all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow) and environments with regular exposure to noise, dust, exhaust fumes, grease, and fuels
  • Strong customer service mindset – reliable, professional, courteous, and solution-focused
  • Excellent communication and time-management skills with attention to detail
  • Tech-savvy with willingness to learn software (Microsoft Office, G-Suite, Point of Rental)
  • Willingness and flexibility to work various schedules including early mornings, evenings, or overtime as required

Key Responsibilities:

As an Equipment Delivery Person (Level 2) with Proline, you’ll be the face of our equipment and bin delivery service. You’ll handle everything from safe transport, loading, and securement to clear communication with our customers, sales, yard, and shop teams.

  • Safely operate DZ-class single-axle delivery trucks, roll-off/tilt-deck trucks, flatbeds, or other assigned vehicles to transport heavy/medium rental equipment, building supplies, cargo, and bins
  • Navigate local and regional delivery routes efficiently while adapting to changing traffic, site conditions, road restrictions, and scheduling updates to deliver items on time
  • Properly load, offload, and safely secure all cargo, equipment, and materials using chains, binders, straps, and winches in full compliance with MTO and Highway Traffic Act regulations
  • Perform complete Daily Vehicle Inspection Reports (Circle Checks) electronically or on paper, recording hours of service, fluid levels, and overall vehicle roadworthiness
  • Perform fluid top-offs, basic fuel replenishment, and routine cleanliness checks, reporting any mechanical failures, hazards, or incidents to the shop mechanic or supervisor immediately
  • Verify shipments against contracts, delivery tickets, and shipping papers, reporting any overages, shortages, or discrepancies to the store location immediately
  • Collect payments, delivery charges, and signed rental agreements upon delivery, as required
  • Maintain accurate delivery, pickup, and inspection records: Obtain appropriate forms for any missing or broken equipment, customer signatures.
  • Tag equipment to be repaired, and placed in the correct holding location until repaired. Notify mechanics, store staff and management, as required.
  • Provide basic equipment operation instructions or safety familiarization to customers upon delivery and ensure alignment with customer needs. Notify the appropriate office staff/management of any issues, delays, or customer feedback
  • Report new job sites or customer needs to the office staff/manager, identifying new sales opportunities
  • Maintain strict compliance with company safety policies, procedures, CVOR/MTO regulations, speed limits, load limits, and the Highway Traffic Act
  • Enforce a strict no-smoking and no-vaping policy inside or around company vehicles and keep company vehicles and equipment clean, well-maintained, and organized
  • Maintain regular, professional communication with sales, yard, and management teams regarding arrival times, schedule changes, and delivery updates
  • Assist in the yard, back shop, or retail area with loading and unloading customer vehicles, general housekeeping, yard maintenance, and basic equipment check-ins when not on delivery routes
  • Provide operational coverage and backup support within the branch and across other locations, as needed
