About Starway Roof Systems

At Starway Roof Systems, we don’t just build roofs—we raise the standard for what homeowners can expect from a roofing company.

Our mission is to raise the standard by giving every homeowner what they deserve: the best. We’re working to become the most trusted name in roofing by combining technical excellence with timeless values.

Our culture is grounded in our S.T.A.R. Core Values, which guide how we show up for each other and for our customers every day:

  • S — Show up to win.
  • T — Together we take the hill.
  • A — Act with integrity.
  • R — Raise the standard.

We’re looking for individuals who align with these values and want to be part of a driven, people-first team. If you're committed to quality work, professional growth, and making an impact—Starway might just be your next home.

Field Manager — Residential Roofing

Starway Roof Systems — Howard, PA (serving State College, Bellefonte, Lock Haven & Central PA)

$28.00–$33.00/hour + overtime + monthly & quarterly bonuses | Full-time

About the Role

The Field Manager is the backbone of our production team. Our Production Manager makes sure the right jobs come down the pipeline — your job is to make sure every one of them gets finished right. You'll lead our Site Supervisors, making sure they're trained, equipped, and set up to win every day. And when a customer has a concern or a job needs a callback, you're the one who steps in, makes it right, and turns a frustrated homeowner into a raving fan.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows roofing, loves working with people, and takes ownership of results.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and develop our Site Supervisors and act as the contact point for Site Supervisors and Foremen on job site questions and issues
  • Perform final roof inspections on completed jobs — photo-document flashing and critical install areas, verify cleanup, walk the job with the homeowner, and ask for that 5-star Google review
  • Diagnose and resolve callback issues within 2 business days — we see callbacks as opportunities to show customers we stand behind our work
  • Perform small roof repairs and pull metal measurements for metal roof orders
  • Hold daily morning and evening debriefs with the Production Manager
  • Pull next-day material loads at the shop each evening and be at the shop by 5:30 AM to help load vans and launch crews
  • Keep growing as a leader — including required reading (think John Maxwell's 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership)
What We're Looking For
  • 2–3 years of roofing experience — required. You need to know roofing to lead roofers and inspect their work.
  • Strong customer service skills — comfortable navigating tough conversations and turning problems into wins
  • Detail-oriented — you catch what others miss on a roof
  • A problem solver who makes field decisions confidently and brings solutions, not just problems
  • Reliable and punctual — 5:30 AM at the shop, every workday. If early mornings aren't for you, this isn't your role.
  • Willingness to learn — new tools, new methods, and required reading
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Physically able to climb roofs, inspect work, lift materials, and work outdoors year-round
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is not required, but it would be amazing
Pay & Benefits
  • $28.00–$33.00/hour based on experience, with overtime (time-and-a-half) after 40 hours — top of range for proven leaders
  • Hours vary by season — long weeks with plenty of overtime in the busy season, lighter in winter
  • Monthly production bonus tied to revenue and gross profit performance
  • Quarterly quality bonuses for keeping callbacks under 5% and maintaining top customer satisfaction scores
  • $1,500 employee referral bonus for every new hire you sponsor who stays 90 days
  • Health insurance — 75% company-paid
  • Dental insurance — 75% company-paid
  • Vision insurance available
  • 401(k)
  • 80 hours of PTO after 2 years, plus paid holidays
  • Paid lunch breaks
  • Paid road time both ways from the job site
  • Stocked fridge at the shop with drinks
  • Real advancement opportunities — we promote from within
  • Company vehicle for job site travel
