This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal ServiceNow HR Service Delivery (HRSD) Software Developer based in the United States.
This is a senior technical role focused on designing, developing, and continuously improving enterprise HR technology through the ServiceNow HR Service Delivery platform. You will help create secure, intuitive, employee-centric solutions that modernize HR services and improve the experience of employees and HR teams. The role spans HR case management, knowledge management, Employee Center, lifecycle events, employee journeys, workflows, and enterprise integrations. You will work closely with HR product owners, business stakeholders, developers, and cross-functional technology teams in an agile environment. Your expertise will help translate complex HR requirements into scalable, reliable technical solutions. - Design, develop, configure, test, and deploy scalable ServiceNow HRSD solutions supporting enterprise HR initiatives, including HR Case & Knowledge Management, Employee Center, Lifecycle Events, Employee Journeys, HR services, and record producers.
- Configure and maintain HRSD capabilities such as HR services, case templates, knowledge bases, workflows, lifecycle events, journeys, COEs, security models, and role-based access.
- Modernize and enhance existing HRSD applications to improve employee experience, automation, service delivery, and HR operational efficiency.
- Develop workflow automation and technical solutions using business rules, client scripts, UI policies, data policies, integrations, and other ServiceNow development capabilities.
- Partner with HR product owners, process owners, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into secure, scalable, and maintainable technical solutions.
- Integrate ServiceNow HRSD with core HRIS and enterprise platforms, including systems such as Workday and SAP, while supporting reliable data exchange and business processes.
- Analyze system capabilities, data structures, technical requirements, and integration needs to identify effective development approaches and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation covering HRSD architecture, configurations, integrations, development activities, and system changes.
- Research emerging ServiceNow and HRSD capabilities and evaluate their potential application to evolving HR and employee-service requirements.
- Mentor and train other professionals, demonstrate HRSD capabilities, and contribute technical expertise across the broader HR technology organization.
- Collaborate effectively with distributed teams and stakeholders through virtual communication and collaboration tools.
- Provide production support and participate in emergency on-call activities when required to maintain critical HRSD services.
- Support an agile delivery environment and manage multiple technical assignments while adapting to changing business priorities.
- Travel occasionally to support different locations and business needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Hands-on ServiceNow development experience with significant expertise in HR Service Delivery (HRSD), including areas such as Case & Knowledge Management, Employee Center, Lifecycle Events, and Employee Journeys.
- Strong JavaScript development skills, with familiarity with Python or PowerShell for automation and integration use cases.
- Understanding of SQL database connections, object structures, queries, and data interactions.
- Experience researching and evaluating new ServiceNow and HRSD capabilities and translating them into practical solutions.
- Knowledge of HR processes such as onboarding, offboarding, employee relations, and HR case management is highly valuable.
- Experience integrating ServiceNow with HRIS platforms such as Workday, SAP, or PeopleSoft is preferred.
- Familiarity with object-oriented programming concepts and design patterns is a plus.
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer and/or ServiceNow Certified HRSD Implementation Specialist certification is preferred.
- Experience working with SAFe Agile methodologies and agile software delivery teams is advantageous.
- Strong analytical, conceptual, problem-solving, and planning skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical HR stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple assignments in a fast-changing environment.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and creative, with an interest in emerging technologies and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with virtual, distributed, and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to obtain and maintain any access or eligibility requirements associated with the role, where applicable.
- Salary: Estimated base salary range of $94,200–$141,200 annually, with actual compensation determined by experience, education, skills, responsibilities, and market conditions.
