Job Description
Job Title: Financial Analyst
Classification: Full-time, exempt
Pay Rate: $75,000/year
Reports to: Controller & Strategic Operations Lead
Brooklyn Bridge Park (BBP) is looking to hire a full-time Financial Analyst to support the fiscal health of Brooklyn Bridge Park's 85-acre waterfront space. This role assists with budgeting, financial modeling, and revenue tracking for park operations, concessions, and community programs. This position will work in close partnership with the Controller to provide data-driven insights to executive leadership to ensure long-term financial sustainability. Successful candidates will possess a foundational knowledge of accounting and demonstrate a strong passion for detail-oriented work, problem-solving, and analysis.
Primary Responsibilities:
Accounts Receivable & Billing
Prepare and issue invoices for organizational revenue streams, including real estate, concessionaires, permits, and events.
Partner with various departments to integrate accounts receivable workflow in BILL.
Monitor collections, payment issues, and customer account questions.
Financial Planning & Analysis
Assist Controller with building long-term financial model to support organizational planning and capital improvements.
Support periodic budget reforcasting through variance analysis of budget to actual spend.
Develop reporting and controls to improve AR performance, collection timing, and cash flow visibility.
Systems & Workflow Management
Assist Finance team with accounting system migration to Sage Intacct.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly and ensure transactions are recorded properly.
Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency to accelerate month-end close.
Reporting & Compliance
Assist with year-end audits and public reporting mandates.
Develop automated dashboards to track key performance metrics.
Qualifications:
2–4 years of experience in non-profit finance or public sector accounting.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Strong capability to translate complex numbers into simple narratives.
Proficiency with accounting, accounts payable, and expense management software such as Sage Intacct and BILL.
Knowledge of NYC government funding processes and compliance is a plus.
Background in NYC public sector, non-profit, or real estate finance preferred.
Strong desire to personally learn and grow, take initiative, and proactively take on challenges.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution preferred.
