Video Editor (Contract)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Video Editor (Contract) based in United States.

This is a hands-on creative role focused on bringing stories and ideas to life through compelling video content.
You’ll contribute to a high-volume content engine spanning organic social, paid advertising, and broader marketing initiatives.
The role centers on short-form, social-first editing while also supporting interviews, testimonials, promotional videos, and longer-form projects.
You’ll transform raw footage and creative direction into polished, engaging content that reflects a consistent brand identity.
Success requires both strong technical editing skills and the creative judgment to shape pacing, storytelling, hooks, visuals, and sound.
You’ll work independently while collaborating closely with marketing and creative stakeholders in a fast-moving remote environment.
This opportunity is ideal for an organized, self-motivated editor who enjoys variety, ownership, and producing high-quality work on tight timelines.

Accountabilities
  • Edit high-quality video content for organic social media, paid social advertising, digital campaigns, and broader marketing initiatives.
  • Build and expand a diverse, high-volume video library by contributing to projects with varying scopes, formats, and creative requirements.
  • Primarily produce short-form videos while supporting interviews, testimonials, promotional content, event videos, longer-form pieces, motion graphics, animations, and other assigned projects.
  • Transform raw footage into polished final deliverables based on creative briefs, stakeholder direction, brand requirements, and project objectives.
  • Independently shape creative treatments when appropriate, including selecting footage and B-roll, developing hooks, establishing pacing and story flow, choosing music, and incorporating graphics or animation.
  • Create motion graphics, animated elements, captions, titles, transitions, and other visual treatments that strengthen storytelling and engagement.
  • Perform color correction and grading, audio editing and mixing, captioning, and other post-production tasks required for professional-quality deliverables.
  • Optimize videos for social and advertising platforms, including framing, pacing, aspect ratios, captions, and platform-specific creative requirements.
  • Apply brand guidelines and applicable compliance standards consistently across all video projects.
  • Manage multiple projects, priorities, deadlines, and feedback cycles while maintaining a high level of organization and quality.
  • Maintain organized project files, source footage, graphics, audio, and other assets according to established file structures and naming conventions.
  • Package, store, and deliver final videos, editable project files, and associated assets through designated systems.
  • Incorporate stakeholder feedback accurately and efficiently and ask clarifying questions early to reduce unnecessary revisions.
  • Collaborate with social media, creative, project management, content marketing, and other stakeholders through established communication and review workflows.
  • Stay current with video-editing techniques, social-first creative trends, platform best practices, and emerging editing technologies.
Requirements
  • Approximately 2–5 years of professional video-editing experience is preferred, although portfolio quality, technical expertise, and demonstrated capabilities will carry greater weight than years of experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects, with demonstrated experience creating motion graphics and animation.
  • Professional post-production experience covering color correction and grading, audio editing and mixing, captioning, visual finishing, and final asset preparation.
  • Strong experience creating commercial, advertising, social media, or marketing-focused video content.
  • Ability to work effectively from detailed creative direction as well as open-ended briefs requiring independent creative judgment and problem-solving.
  • Strong storytelling instincts, with the ability to select compelling footage, establish pacing, create engaging hooks, and build cohesive narratives.
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, files, deadlines, and rounds of feedback simultaneously.
  • Clear, professional communication skills and the ability to receive, interpret, and implement creative feedback effectively.
  • Self-directed and dependable, with the ability to work independently without close supervision or micromanagement.
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced, remote environment and maintaining reasonable availability for communication during U.S. Eastern and Central Time business hours; fixed 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. hours are not required.
  • Ability to consistently meet project-specific deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality.
  • Must provide a professional-grade computer, reliable internet connection, storage, and other hardware required for video-editing work; approved software and applicable digital or stock assets will be provided.
  • Must be authorized to perform contracted work in the United States and satisfy applicable contractor eligibility requirements.
  • A proactive, creative, collaborative mindset with strong attention to detail and a willingness to adapt to changing priorities and new technologies.
  • Reliable internet connectivity is required, with a minimum of 50 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload speeds for remote work.
Benefits
  • Contract compensation by deliverable:
    • Short-form videos (15–90 seconds): $250–$350
    • Standard videos (3–15 minutes): $400–$500

    • Compensation capped at $2,000 per month
  • Remote contract work with flexibility around working hours, provided reasonable availability is maintained during U.S. Eastern and Central Time business hours.
  • Access to required approved editing software and applicable digital/stock assets.
  • Opportunity to contribute to a broad and growing video content library across social media, advertising, and marketing channels.
  • Collaborative work with marketing, creative, social media, content, and project teams.
  • Mission-driven environment focused on accessible, high-quality online education and positive community impact.
  • Diverse, inclusive culture emphasizing collaboration, respect, innovation, and professional growth.
