Job Description
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a DevOps Engineer (Engineering Productivity & Tooling) in Canada.
In this role, you will be at the center of a modern, AI-native engineering organization focused on building tools and platforms that improve developer experience, system reliability, and delivery speed. You will design and operate internal productivity systems that provide visibility into engineering performance, including metrics such as cycle time, deployment frequency, and throughput. The environment is highly collaborative and fast-moving, with a strong emphasis on automation, cloud-native infrastructure, and secure software delivery practices. You will also play a key role in shaping how engineering teams adopt AI-driven workflows and development tools at scale. This position combines DevOps, platform engineering, and data-driven decision-making to reduce friction across the software lifecycle. It is an opportunity to directly influence how engineering teams build, ship, and operate software in a modern cloud environment.
- Build and maintain internal developer productivity tooling such as dashboards, metrics systems, and engineering performance frameworks (e.g., DORA metrics, cycle time, throughput).
- Instrument and analyze AI and automation usage across engineering workflows, including cost tracking, token consumption, and optimization of agentic systems.
- Design and operate reliable monitoring, alerting, and incident response systems to ensure high availability of business-critical platforms.
- Improve and streamline Secure SDLC practices by integrating and optimizing security tools such as SAST, DAST, and SIEM without slowing developer velocity.
- Manage and evolve AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security across production environments.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to support fast, safe, and repeatable software delivery.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform to ensure consistency and auditability across environments.
- Partner with engineering and security teams to drive adoption of AI coding agents and emerging developer productivity tools.
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Cloud Engineering roles.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Strong experience building internal tooling for developer productivity and engineering metrics (e.g., DORA metrics, deployment frequency, cycle time).
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Go, or TypeScript for automation and tooling development.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services including compute (ECS, EKS, EC2, Lambda), storage (S3, RDS, Redis), and governance tools (IAM, Control Tower).
- Solid experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Strong background in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or similar tools (AWS CDK, CloudFormation).
- Familiarity with AI coding tools and modern development workflows is highly valued.
- Experience working with or optimizing LLM/AI infrastructure (e.g., AWS Bedrock, cost optimization, model evaluation) is a strong plus.
- Competitive salary ranging from CAD 144,528 to CAD 159,741, depending on experience and location.
- Remote-first role within Canada, offering flexibility to work from anywhere in the country.
- Opportunity to work in a fast-scaling, AI-driven engineering environment.
- Exposure to cutting-edge tools in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, and AI-assisted development.
- Strong focus on engineering productivity, automation, and modern platform practices.
- Comprehensive benefits package including equity and additional perks (as applicable).
- Inclusive and diverse workplace culture that encourages innovation and collaboration.
