Physician Billing Specialist Assistant

As a Physician Billing Specialist Assistant, you'll play an important role in supporting the billing process and helping ensure patient accounts are processed accurately and efficiently. You'll assist with daily billing operations, payment posting, insurance updates, and claim processing while supporting the Physicians Billing department.

What You'll Do

• Open, sort, distribute, and process daily mail.
• Prepare and complete daily deposits.
• Post Single Billing Office payments and zero-dollar remittances.
• Process and mail CMS-1500 claims.
• Scan daily batches to ensure information is accessible to the department.
• Work assigned insurance work queues and complete related follow-up activities.
• Update and correct insurance information to support accurate patient billing.
• Access insurance websites to retrieve and print explanation of benefits (EOB) information and verify insurance eligibility.
• Access, enter, and retrieve information using Froedtert South's software programs.
• Maintain departmental filing cabinets and purge files monthly.
• Perform other clerical and administrative duties as assigned by the Manager/Leads.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED.
• Entry-level position; prior experience is not required.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage assigned tasks accurately and efficiently.
• Comfort using computers, software applications, and insurance websites.
• Ability to handle billing information and documentation with accuracy and care.

Pay & Benefits

$17.50 -$26.25 per hour (Pay is based on experience).
