Job Description
Job Summary
The Account Services Manager supervises activities and personnel in the department. The manager oversees employees in following all policy and procedures regarding appropriate action taken to ensure timely billing of Client accounts and collection efforts on overdue Guarantor accounts. Manager works closely with multiple collection agencies helping to ensure appropriate reconciliation.
Performance: Position Specific Essential Functions
- Plans, organizes, supervises and evaluates the work of office staff to maximize efficiency and productivity of billing and collecting of Client accounts and past due Guarantor balances.
- Responsible for negotiating settlements with attorneys, patient discounts or employee programs.
- Oversees deceased guarantor accounts per department policy and with outside vendor.
- Prepares performance evaluations and other personnel documents.
- Counsels employees and provides constructive feedback, as appropriate.
- Work reports to better serve the business office.
- Observes, reinforces and is compliant with all policies and procedures.
- Maintains current knowledge of job duties and appropriate business office procedures.
- Attends seminars, training sessions, and meetings as needed or requested.
- Distributes memos and information to employees, staff and physicians.
- Performs other duties, as assigned.
- Serves as a liaison between administration, physicians, nurses, staff and other departments.
- Reports problems or issues affecting office or clinic to administrator or other department managers.
- Develop, implement and maintain program(s) to train and educate staff on the process of handling overdue accounts to include those in bad debt, estate and mail returns.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- Required
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
Experience:
- Required
- 3-5 years in Medical Office
- Preferred
- 1 year of Collection Experience
