The VP of Data will lead the vision, strategy, and execution of a comprehensive data organization spanning data engineering, analytics, business intelligence, data science, and AI/ML capabilities.
This executive role will shape how data is used to improve customer outcomes, operational efficiency, and business decision-making.
Working closely with executive leadership, product, engineering, clinical, and operational teams, you will transform complex data into actionable insights and scalable solutions.
You will build and mature a high-performing data organization while establishing strong foundations in governance, analytics, experimentation, and machine learning.
The role requires a strategic builder who can balance innovation, technical excellence, and responsible data practices in a regulated environment.

The VP of Data will own the data function end-to-end, establishing the strategy, team structure, and operating model required to support business growth. This leader will partner across the organization to ensure data becomes a core driver of product innovation, clinical impact, and operational excellence.
- Define and execute the overall data vision, strategy, and roadmap across data engineering, analytics, BI, data science, and applied AI/ML.
- Lead, mentor, and scale a multidisciplinary data organization including data engineers, analysts, analytics engineers, data scientists, and ML engineers.
- Partner with executive leadership to translate company goals into measurable data strategies, business metrics, and reporting frameworks.
- Establish scalable data platforms, architecture, governance practices, and analytics capabilities that support long-term growth.
- Guide decisions around data infrastructure investments, platform priorities, automation opportunities, and technical tradeoffs.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams on instrumentation, experimentation, data architecture, and ML-enabled product capabilities.
- Partner with clinical and operational teams to improve outcomes, quality measurement, workflow efficiency, and decision-making through data insights.
- Drive responsible adoption of AI and machine learning, evaluating opportunities, risks, model performance, and clinical safety considerations.
- Develop systems for reliable metrics, reporting, experimentation, causal analysis, and organizational decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare data requirements, privacy standards, security practices, and sensitive data handling expectations.
- Represent the data function in executive discussions, strategic planning, board conversations, and company-wide initiatives.
- Build a culture of data excellence, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the organization.
The ideal candidate is an experienced data executive who has successfully built and scaled data organizations in high-growth environments. This leader should combine technical depth, business judgment, and strong people leadership skills to drive meaningful outcomes through data and AI.
- Proven experience leading an end-to-end data organization covering data engineering, analytics, BI, data science, and machine learning.
- Experience scaling data teams through periods of significant company growth and organizational change.
- Strong understanding of modern data platforms, architecture, governance, warehousing, and analytics infrastructure.
- Experience delivering machine learning or AI-powered solutions into real-world products or operational workflows.
- Ability to create clarity from ambiguity by establishing metrics, ownership models, processes, and data-driven decision frameworks.
- Strong product and business instincts with the ability to connect technical investments to measurable outcomes.
- Experience with experimentation, causal inference, analytics methodologies, and responsible interpretation of data.
- Experience working with sensitive data, privacy considerations, compliance requirements, or regulated industries such as healthcare is strongly preferred.
- Ability to make strategic decisions with incomplete information while balancing speed, quality, and risk.
- Demonstrated success hiring, developing, and coaching high-performing technical teams.
- Strong executive communication skills with the ability to influence leaders, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
- Technical fluency with modern cloud, data, and software environments, including familiarity with tools such as AWS, Python, APIs, databases, and analytics platforms.
- Hands-on understanding of AI-assisted development and productivity tools, with the ability to guide responsible adoption of emerging technologies.
