About This Position
Casual Hire positions are part-time/temporary positions that are available to students and outside candidates. These positions provide technical, clerical, or other general support to faculty and staff of Gateway Technical College.
Casual hires are under the supervision on the department and/or area that has hired them.
Positions in recruitment will vary based on need. You are encouraged to check back frequently for active positions in recruitment and apply for those in which you have an interest.
Positions in recruitment:
- Veterinary Technician (Elkhorn)
The veterinary technician will assist students in a lab setting to aid in students’ academic knowledge. Through hands-on applications they will assist students with essential skills building and understanding according to the program standards.
Eligible candidates must hold an Associates in Applied Science in Veterinary Technician from an American Veterinary Medical Association accredited school. *For consideration your transcripts must be uploaded with your application.
Duties will include but are not limited to: maintaining a clean and organized lab environment, pre-lab prepping, in-lab student interaction, post-lab clean up. $29 per hour.

- Ability to work the required hours for the position.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available. International Students seeking employment must adhere to the rules of the F-1 or M-1 visa in order to work on campus.

SALARY: starting at $15.00
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Age 16 or older.
- Employment eligibility for the United States.
- Gateway does not sponsor employment based visas.
- International Students:
- Must be a current student (enrolled) at Gateway Technical College
- Must have a F-1 or M-1 Visa
- Once a job offer has been obtained:
- Supervisor will provide details of employment to HR and request an Intent Letter
- International Student will obtain a Social Security Number for tax purposes
- Tobacco-free environment.
