Grounds Maintenance in San Antonio, Texas at Monterrey Iron - Metal Ltd

This position will assist with general duties of a scrap metal company.

Duties:

• General clean-up of any area and/or equipment and physical handling of materials, supplies, etc

• Cleans offices, bathrooms, breakroom and grounds areas

• Throw all trash out of office, breakroom, bathrooms etc

• Disinfectants, tools and equipment used in modern work.

• Safety best practices and work methods; proper lifting techniques.

• Basic grounds maintenance procedures including mowing, edging, raking and weeding

• Safe work procedures in the operation of hand and power tools and equipment.

• Operation and maintenance of hand and power tools and equipment used in grounds keeping.

• Methods and materials used in controlling pests, insects, and weeds.

• Safe and defensive driving practices and methods.

•Perform minor repairs.

• Understand and carry out oral and written instructions/directions.

• Work cooperatively with others.

• Maintains records such as work orders, equipment repairs and maintenance

• Able to operate a forklift and bobcat.

• Working with or around machinery with moving parts. Physical Demands

• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a variety of custodial and grounds equipment.

• Standing and walking for extended periods of time.

• Clarity of vision at varying distances to perform custodial and grounds duties. • Verbal, auditory, and written capabilities to effectively communicate in an articulate manner. • Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling object(s) weighing up to 40 pounds.

• Occasional bending, kneeling, and crouching.

• Reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally.

Hours of Operation:

Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm

Saturday, 8:00am - 12:00pm
