About This Position
This role of the Maintenance Technician is responsible for conducting general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property structures. Our ideal candidate will be a jack-of-all-trades, with in-depth knowledge of maintenance procedures, hydraulic systems, HVAC installations/repairs, and basic tools and appliances. To excel in this position, you must be an outstanding problem-solver with exceptional communication and organizational skills.

Essential Functions and Duties:
- Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems to identify any issues.
- Repair faulty equipment units and damaged structures.
- Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels etc.)
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures.
- Manage heating and plumbing systems to guarantee functionality.
- Assist in the setup of ventilation, refrigeration and other systems and conduct repairs when necessary Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is up to standard.
- Perform general maintenance tasks including landscaping, painting, and carpentry.
- Maintain the inventory records for equipment and supplies.
Education, Certifications, and Qualifications:
- Previous working experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar role for 3+ years
- High school diploma
- Any additional relevant certification will be considered an advantage (HVAC, CMRP etc.)
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology or relevant field is preferred. Advanced understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems
- In depth knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
- Applicable knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
- Manual dexterity and attention to detail
- Problem solving aptitude
- Physically capable and available to work overtime including weekends, public holidays, and evenings.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
·Physical demands include, but are not limited to: sitting, bending, climbing stairs, extensive standing and walking around the warehouse. Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs. Must be willing to work necessary hours to fulfill the needs of the job.

Starting hourly rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and will vary based on things like location, experience, and qualifications. All positions are eligible for Overtime, and some positions will have guaranteed Overtime available.
Hourly rate for Suburban Stores is $15-$25
Hourly rate for City of Chicago Stores is $16.60-$25
