Summary Description
nbkc bank is currently looking for an experienced Bi-Lingual (Spanish) Mortgage Loan Originator, Community Lender to join our Home Loan Sales team.
As a Community Lender, you will work closely with our Community Development Officer to engage and work with borrowers in the Kansas City area. This role will specifically focus and work with low to moderate income (LMI) and underserved households and communities providing expert guidance through the mortgage process. You’ll build relationships with clients and deliver tailored financing solutions to meet their needs.
This position will work 100% in the office based out of Kansas City, MO and will require travel within the KC metro area for events, and business and community development.

What you’ll do
- Consult and service customers
- Interview applicants to develop information concerning mortgage needs.
- Obtain and analyze pertinent financial and credit information and determine which loan option best fits applicants’ needs and circumstances. Pre-qualify applicant, negotiate rates, terms and conditions of the loan.
- Enter mortgage application in full accurate detail in the origination system. Obtain automated underwriting decision through appropriate system. Advise applicant of disposition and arrange for documents required from the automated underwriting system (AUS).
- Ensure the timely preparation and delivery of all forms and legal disclosures as required by regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain complete, detailed and accurate knowledge of investor program guidelines and agency guidelines to minimize credit and/or rate risk to the Bank and ensure that all loan applications are originated, developed and closed in a timely and professional manner.
- Follow all applicable laws and regulations.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
What you’ll bring
- 1-2 years of sales experience (mortgage lending industry experience, preferred)
- Bilingual Spanish/English
- General knowledge of related regulations, mortgage products, and requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
