Role Summary
ZEDEDA is hiring a Technical Program Manager to own the operational engine of our engineering organization. This is not a coordination role. You will be accountable for how well engineering ships - the cadence, the health metrics, the process integrity, and the tooling infrastructure behind all of it.
You'll work directly with engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to eliminate friction, enforce alignment discipline, and make sure commitments are grounded in reality before they're made public. You'll have the standing to challenge scope, push back on timelines, and redesign broken processes without waiting for permission.
If you're looking for a role where you run status updates and write process documentation, this isn't it. If you want to own how a fast-moving, technically complex org operates, and have the authority and expectation to change what's broken - keep reading.
Core Responsibilities:
- Define and run the sprint cadence, release management process, and cross-functional dependency tracking across product and engineering.
- Own engineering health metrics - cycle time, deployment frequency, defect escape rate, on-time delivery, and report trends and recommended actions to leadership on a regular basis.
- Drive roadmap prioritization with technical leads by locking alignment before commitments ship, not after.
- Own incident response and post-mortems: reviews on schedule, action items tracked to closure, patterns escalated before they recur.
- Find and fix process friction - handoff gaps, unclear escalation paths, tooling that costs more than it helps. Fix it, don't document it.
- Run the engineering leadership rhythm: agendas, pre-reads, decision logs, and action-item accountability across staff and cross-functional meetings.
- Serve as Jira administrator for the engineering organization, owning configuration, permissions, and data integrity.
- Partner with the Jira implementation team to design and maintain Jira workflows that reflect how engineering actually works and evolve them as the org scales.
- Ensure tooling choices and workflow designs reduce overhead, not add it.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years in technical program management, engineering operations, or a closely related role at a product-led software company.
- Demonstrated experience owning engineering cadence, sprint planning, release management, dependency tracking, not just participating in it.
- Track record of building and reporting on engineering health metrics that actually drove leadership decisions.
- Hands-on Jira administration experience, including workflow configuration, project structure design, and cross-team tooling governance.
- Strong command of incident management and post-mortem processes.
- Comfort working directly with engineering leads and executives - you give direct, data-backed recommendations, not options menus.
- Bias toward fixing things over documenting them.
The Ideal Candidate
You've run engineering operations/technical program manager at a company shipping on a quarterly-or-faster cadence. You default to fixing the process yourself rather than writing a proposal about it. You think like an owner - if something is broken and within reach, you fix it whether or not it's technically "your job." And you're comfortable being the person in the room who says "we're not ready to commit to that", even when the room is full of stakeholders who want to say yes.
Pay & Benefits
At ZEDEDA, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. Base pay is determined by considering your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. For this role the base pay range is $150,000 - $200,000.
