The Role:

You will be joining an SLT that values a close and solutions-focused partnership with the People Team, a CEO who is thoughtful and detail-oriented, and a CFO who is your closest operational partner. You will inherit a strong team and a solid infrastructure foundation. This is not a role for someone who wants to run a steady-state People function. Arine is in an active growth phase with real cultural complexity, a workforce that spans different operating models, and an SLT that moves fast. What the organization needs now is someone who can take that foundation and grow the culture and talent strategy layer on top of it.

What You’ll be Doing / Own:

SLT Partnership

Based on a thorough understanding of the business, work with SLT to develop People strategies that align with and support opportunities for cross-team collaboration and org efficienciesServe as the organization's change management resource, equipping SLT and function heads with frameworks and support to lead their teams through changePartner with function heads to develop their management capabilities

Org Design and Headcount Governance

Advise on organizational design as Arine continues to scale and add complexityOwn the headcount planning and backfill governance process in partnership with the CFO

Culture and Org Health Monitoring and Reporting

Own the design and execution of organizational health monitoring, reporting on trends to leadership, and driving action plans that close identified gaps Own the ongoing pulse survey program and translate anonymous data into SLT-level recommendations with clarity and urgencyServe as a thought partner for cultural initiatives and improvements to the employee experience based on data

Talent and Recruiting

Oversee the recruiting function and ensure recruiting efforts align with expectations (e.g., market data, employee profile, recruiting strategy, seasonal hiring fluctuations) for diverse requisitions across technical and clinical roles, ensuring a holistic view of the candidate/employee lifecyclePartner with recruiting leads on offer strategy, compensation benchmarking, and leveling decisionsLead talent assessment and succession planning initiativesPartner with functional leads to define paths for employee development

People Operations and Compliance

Own the full people operations foundation: HRIS (Rippling), immigration, benefits, compliance, and leave managementEnsure the team runs with precision, especially on time-sensitive legal and regulatory requirementsContinue the AI-enabled People Ops work already in flight, including workflow automation and analytics, while continuing to identify opportunities for automation and enablement across the company within accessible Rippling tools and dashboardsDevelop knowledge transfer initiatives and improve employee onboarding to decrease time to productivity

Team Leadership

Lead, develop, and advocate for the People Team, guiding team members to the best possible and timely outcomesIdentify and invest in the development paths of your directs, particularly those who are stepping into new responsibilities

Who You Are and What You Bring:

15+ years of People leadership experience, with at least 3 years in a Head of People or VP-equivalent roleDemonstrated ability to partner effectively with C-level executives and senior leaders and influence outcomesExperience at a high-growth tech company between Series B and Series D Comfort operating in ambiguity without waiting for permission to actExperience in a healthcare, health tech, or regulated industry companyBackground supporting engineering or product organizations specificallyFamiliarity with Rippling as HRIS Exposure to AI enablement or responsible AI adoption within a People functionDemonstrated ability to lead across two distinct workforce populations: a technical org and a high-volume or operationally intensive workforce (clinical, support, call center, or similar)

Travel and Other Information:

This is a hybrid role based in San Francisco, with an expectation of working onsite 2-3 days per week

The posted range represents the expected salary for this position and does not include any other potential components of the compensation package, benefits, and perks. Ultimately, the final pay decision will consider factors such as your experience, job level, location, and other relevant job-related criteria. The salary range for this position is: $240,000-260,000/year.

Information Security Roles and Responsibilities:

All staff at Arine are expected to be part of its Information Security Management Program and undergo periodic training on Information Security Awareness and HIPAA guidelines. Each user is responsible to maintain a secure working environment and follow all policies and procedures. Upon hire, each person is assigned and must complete trainings before access is granted for their specific role within Arine.
