Shop Tech - Wash Bay in Nashville, Tennessee at Sadler Brothers Trucking

Entry-level shop technician responsible primarily for washing and detailing semi trucks and trailers, while providing general assistance with daily shop and yard operations to support the fleet maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities

• Thoroughly wash and clean semi-trucks, tractors, and trailers (interior and exterior as assigned), including degreasing, pressure washing, and detailing.

• Assist with daily truck and trailer activities such as moving vehicles in the yard, staging equipment, fueling support, and basic walk-around checks.

• Help maintain a clean and organized shop, wash bay, and yard area.

• Report any visible damage, fluid leaks, or safety concerns observed during cleaning or vehicle movement.

• Assist mechanics or other shop personnel with non-technical tasks as needed (tool retrieval, parts handling, cleanup, etc.).

• Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE, chemical handling, and equipment operation.

• Perform other related duties as assigned by shop management.

Qualifications

• Reliable transportation and ability to work in a shop/yard environment.

• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and get dirty.

• Basic mechanical aptitude or interest in the trucking industry preferred but not required.

• Ability to follow directions, work independently, and communicate clearly.

• Valid driver’s license preferred (CDL not required unless vehicles are operating on public roads).

• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 50 lbs, and operate pressure washers and cleaning equipment for extended periods.

Preferred Skills

• Previous experience washing commercial vehicles or working in a fleet shop/yard.

• Familiarity with pressure washers, degreasers, and basic truck components.

• Strong attention to detail and safety mindset.
