Job Description

Position Summary

SunStrong Management is seeking an Associate, Capital Markets & Portfolio Onboarding to support transaction execution, portfolio pricing, refinancing, onboarding, and investor communications across its growing renewable energy platform. The Associate will help evaluate new opportunities, advance refinancing activity, coordinate the transition of newly awarded or acquired portfolios, and prepare investor- and executive-facing materials that inform strategic decisions.

Working across internal teams — asset management, accounting, tax, operations, and legal — as well as external stakeholders, the Associate will help ensure that new opportunities are priced soundly, refinancing initiatives are well supported, and onboarding is executed in a disciplined, well-coordinated way. The role suits a candidate with a background in investment banking, consulting, structured finance, or transaction advisory who wants to apply those skills in an operating environment.

The Associate is often among the first points of contact investors and counterparties have with SunStrong during a transaction or onboarding, and also supports recurring portfolio overview materials for existing investors. Strong relationship management, communication, and executive presentation skills are therefore essential; the successful candidate will represent the platform in a polished, thoughtful, and highly professional manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Transaction Execution: Support capital markets and transaction workstreams tied to new portfolio opportunities and refinancing initiatives.

• Onboarding Management: Manage onboarding workstreams for newly awarded or acquired portfolios, including timelines, deliverables, risks, and stakeholder coordination.

• Pricing Analysis: Support pricing analysis for new opportunities, incorporating commercial assumptions, cost considerations, and transition complexity.

• Materials & Presentations: Prepare investor- and executive-facing materials — pricing proposals, diligence decks, refinancing packages, and portfolio update presentations.

• Investor Communications: Support recurring portfolio overview materials and communications for existing investors.

• Deal & Counterparty Coordination: Manage investor and counterparty communications throughout deal, refinancing, and onboarding processes with responsiveness, professionalism, and clarity.

• Analysis & Recommendations: Translate diligence findings, operating assumptions, and financial analysis into clear recommendations and decision-useful materials.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with asset management, accounting, tax, operations, legal, and external counterparties to support transaction readiness, refinancing, and onboarding execution.

• Tracking & Visibility: Track open items, decisions, and dependencies across active workstreams.

• Process Improvement: Help standardize the tools, templates, and processes for pricing, diligence, investor communications, and onboarding.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related field.

• 2–5 years of experience in investment banking, consulting, structured finance, transaction advisory, or a similarly analytical role.

• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency and strong PowerPoint skills.

• Experience preparing materials for investors, executives, or transaction stakeholders, including diligence and pricing content.

• Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to interact effectively with sophisticated external audiences.

• Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple workstreams at once.

• Ability to operate with a high degree of ownership in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, asset-backed finance, or project finance.

• Exposure to transaction pricing, refinancing, diligence, onboarding, or integration processes.

• Familiarity with investor presentation development and transaction support materials.

What Success Looks Like

• New portfolio opportunities are evaluated and priced in a timely, thoughtful manner.

• Refinancing and onboarding processes are well coordinated, with clear visibility into timing, risks, and dependencies.

• Pricing proposals, diligence decks, and investor materials are polished, analytical, and decision-useful.

• Existing investors receive consistent, high-quality portfolio overview materials.

• Investors and counterparties experience SunStrong as responsive, professional, and highly organized from the outset of each process.

• SunStrong's processes for deal execution, refinancing, investor communication, and onboarding become more disciplined and scalable.
