Group Fitness Water Instructor in Fargo, North Dakota at Family Wellness LLC

Position Purpose

Our Water Instructors are responsible for leading safe, effective, and engaging aquatic fitness classes that support the health, wellness, and fitness goals of Family Wellness members. This position creates a welcoming and motivating environment for participants of all ages and fitness levels by providing clear instruction, appropriate modifications, and positive encouragement. The Water Instructor is expected to deliver high-quality classes and maintain a strong focus on participant safety.

Job Specific Competencies

• Knowledge of water-based fitness principles, exercise techniques, and appropriate modifications for varying fitness levels, abilities, ages, and physical limitations
• Ability to safely lead and monitor participants in a pool environment
• Strong understanding of aquatic exercise safety, including recognizing and responding to potential safety concerns
• Ability to demonstrate and clearly explain exercises, movements, and proper form
• Strong class leadership and group management skills
• Ability to maintain an energetic, positive, and a motivating class environment
• Effective verbal communication and instruction skills
• Create positive relationships with members and provide excellent customer service
• Work collaboratively with the Group Fitness team and follow department policies and procedures
• Commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, welcoming, and enjoyable experience for all participants

Other duties as assigned

Education, Experience, & Skills (Minimum Requirement):

Previous Group Fitness and/or Water Aerobics experience is preferred, but we are willing to consider the right candidate with a strong fitness background and a willingness to become certified. Current CPR/AED certification and applicable Cycle Certification/Group Exercise certification are preferred, or the ability to obtain required certifications.

Licensure/Certification Requirement(s):

• Certification through a national organization that offers a written examination and practical workshop/examination is preferred. We are willing to Mentor the right candidate in house
• CPR/AED certification required upon hire or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
