Job Description
Mission Experience Specialist - Foundation Support Services
Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together
Work Location: Texas Health Corporate, 612 E. Lamar Blvd., Arlington, TX 76011
Work Hours: Hybrid: Full Time Days (8:00am-5:00pm) for 40 hrs/week (remote work allowed at manager's discretion)
Occasional nights and weekends required
Department Highlights:
The Mission Experience Specialist plays a lead role in reimagining how the Texas Health Resources Foundation cultivates relationships with prospects and donors. Where traditional cultivation relies on familiar touchpoints, this position is responsible for designing intentional, memorable experiences that surprise and delight, turning
ordinary interactions into defining moments that inspire people to give and to stay connected to our mission.
This position exists to move our cultivation efforts beyond conventional models. Drawing on the science of memorable experiences, the Mission Experience Specialist works creatively and strategically to break the script, mark milestones, and create the kind of peak moments that earn a first gift and make the next one feel like the natural continuation of a relationship the donor already values. Donor retention depends heavily on the
experience between the first and second gift, and this role is designed to strengthen that bridge.
Rather than carrying a personal portfolio, the Mission Experience Specialist serves as a resource and partner to frontline fundraisers, providing the tools, ideas, and coordination that allow gift officers to deliver distinctive cultivation experiences at scale. This position collaborates with and impacts all areas of the Foundation, partnering closely with the donor relations function, which holds the parallel focus on stewardship
What You Will DO:
Essential Functions
Experience Design & Strategy
Design and coordinate creative cultivation experiences that translate traditional outreach into intentional, memorable moments for prospects and donors
Apply the principles of memorable experience design, including elevating moments, breaking from routine, marking milestones, and creating opportunities for genuine connection, across the donor journey
Develop signature, repeatable mission experiences that can be tailored and deployed consistently across regions and giving levels
Identify the key moments in the cultivation journey, particularly the path from first to second gift, and design intentional experiences that strengthen donor retention
Continuously scan for inspiration inside and outside the philanthropic sector, bringing fresh, outside-the-box ideas into the Foundation's cultivation strategy
Frontline Support & Coordination
Serve as a resource and partner to frontline fundraisers, providing tools, templates, and creative concepts that help gift officers make every interaction more meaningful
Coordinate the planning and logistics of cultivation experiences in partnership with gift officers, ensuring each is executed with quality, intentionality, and attention to detail
Build and maintain a toolkit of cultivation resources, ideas, and best practices that frontline fundraisers can readily access and personalize
Equip and coach staff to recognize and act on opportunities to surprise and delight, helping embed an experience-minded culture across the team
Collaborate closely with the donor relations function to ensure a seamless handoff between cultivation and stewardship so the donor experience feels continuous
Collaboration & Execution
Partner with gift officers, communications, advancement services, hospital leadership, and external vendors to bring cultivation experiences to life
Coordinate vendors, venues, and materials needed to execute distinctive experiences, managing details from concept through completion
Work within budget parameters to deliver high-impact experiences with strong cost control and creative use of resources
Ensure cultivation activities and donor interactions are accurately documented in the donor database to inform future engagement
Gather feedback and measure the impact of mission experiences, refining the approach based on what resonates most with prospects and donors
