Sage Rental Services is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to join our Oklahoma City team.

This is a hands-on field position for a mechanically skilled technician who enjoys troubleshooting equipment, solving problems, and working directly with customers. As a Field Service Technician, you'll be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and servicing SAGE's pumps and related equipment at customer locations throughout the region.

We're looking for someone who is dependable, safety-minded, mechanically strong, and comfortable working independently in the field. Experience with diesel engines, pumps, rotating equipment, or oilfield equipment is especially valuable.

What You'll Do
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain pumps, diesel engines, and related rental equipment in the field.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, and routine service on rental equipment.
  • Respond to customer service calls and troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently to minimize downtime.
  • Install, start up, test, and support pumping equipment at customer locations.
  • Identify equipment problems and determine appropriate repairs or corrective actions.
  • Complete work orders and accurately document repairs, maintenance, parts, and service performed.
  • Help customers understand the safe and proper operation of SAGE equipment.
  • Communicate equipment status, repair needs, and job-site concerns to customers and SAGE team members.
  • Maintain an organized service vehicle, tools, parts, and work area.
  • Follow all SAGE safety procedures, customer site requirements, and applicable environmental standards.
  • Support shop, yard, and field operations as needed.
  • Provide professional, responsive service and represent SAGE well at every customer location.
What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience diagnosing, servicing, and repairing diesel-powered equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Working knowledge of engines, pumps, mechanical systems, and related equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose problems and complete repairs with limited supervision.
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills.
  • Dependable, organized, and able to manage multiple service calls and priorities.
  • Comfortable using computers, tablets, diagnostic software, Microsoft Office, and equipment or rental management systems.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Valid driver's license and driving record that meets company standards.
  • Ability to successfully complete required pre-employment screening, including a criminal background check and drug screen.
  • Ability to lift and carry more than 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work in shop, yard, and outdoor field conditions.
  • Must have appropriate personal tools necessary to perform equipment service and repair work.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and participate in an after-hours on-call rotation, including nights, weekends, and holidays as customer and operational needs require.
Experience That Will Help You Stand Out

We'd especially like to hear from candidates with experience in:

  • Diesel engine diagnostics and repair
  • Pumps and rotating equipment
  • Oilfield equipment and field services
  • Water transfer or fluid management operations
  • Industrial or municipal pumping systems
  • Equipment rental or field service
  • Electrical or hydraulic troubleshooting
  • Trade school or technical training
  • OEM engine diagnostic software
  • 2–5 years of field service, diesel, pump, or related mechanical experience
Work Environment

This position includes both shop and field work, with a significant portion of the role performed outdoors at customer locations. Field conditions may include heat, cold, wind, dust, mud, and other conditions common to industrial and oilfield operations in southeastern New Mexico.

Technicians regularly stand, walk, bend, climb, push, pull, and lift while working around pumps, engines, piping, vehicles, and other industrial equipment.

Because our customers rely on Sage equipment to keep critical operations running, dependability, responsiveness, and flexibility are essential to this position.
