Job Description
This role sits at the center of a virtual, clinic-based patient support ecosystem focused on specialty and biologic therapies. You will act as a key liaison connecting patients, physicians, insurers, pharmacies, and internal care teams to ensure seamless access to treatment. The position combines clinical knowledge with strong coordination and case management expertise in a fast-paced healthcare environment. You will oversee complex patient journeys, from referral to reimbursement approval and ongoing therapy support. The work directly impacts patients’ ability to access life-changing medications in a timely and efficient manner. It requires autonomy, precision, and a strong commitment to improving healthcare access and patient outcomes. This is a fully remote role with collaboration across multiple healthcare stakeholders nationwide.
- Coordinate end-to-end patient access to specialty therapies, including biologics and biosimilars, ensuring timely initiation of treatment pathways.
- Manage referral intake, documentation accuracy, and submission processes for reimbursement and funding approvals.
- Collaborate with insurers and support teams to facilitate prior authorization, special authorization, and appeals processes.
- Educate patients and healthcare providers on therapies, eligibility criteria, disease areas, and treatment pathways.
- Support physicians with reimbursement navigation and administrative requirements for therapy access.
- Track patient cases in PSP systems, ensuring adherence to KPIs, timelines, and service standards.
- Coordinate with clinics and pharmacies to align treatment scheduling and medication delivery.
- Monitor patient progress, adherence, and therapy interruptions, escalating issues when needed.
- Report adverse events according to regulatory and internal compliance requirements.
- Work cross-functionally with clinical, reimbursement, and operations teams to optimize patient experience and program performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, service quality, and access efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Pharmacy, or a related healthcare discipline (or equivalent experience).
- 4+ years of experience in healthcare, patient services, case management, or clinical support roles.
- Strong experience with patient support programs, reimbursement processes, or payer systems.
- Solid understanding of Canadian public and private healthcare funding systems.
- Familiarity with prior authorization, appeals, and specialty therapy access pathways.
- Experience in biologics, immunology, oncology, or specialty pharmacy environments is an asset.
- Knowledge of PSP platforms, CRM systems, or healthcare case management tools.
- Strong clinical judgment, problem-solving abilities, and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced, and high-volume environment.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French is considered an advantage.
- Competitive base salary ranging from $81,500 to $108,600 annually.
