Job Overview
The HR Specialist II serves as the primary point of contact for tactical execution of initiatives by the HR department. The specialist will handle moderately complex assignments through innovation and judgment and must demonstrate a solid working knowledge of subject matter. The specialist must have the ability to plan and conduct work requiring independent evaluation, assumes responsibility for contribution to the success of projects, and will exercise autonomy for unviewed decisions. The specialist may need to function in lead capacity and mentor other personnel and on occasion may supervise work of others on assigned projects.

Responsibilities
- Work extensively with data administration, spreadsheet analysis, reporting, identifying trends and tracking onboarding survey responses.
- Provide administrative services of confidential nature.
- Lead or direct work of others on specific projects.
- May assist with the budgeting/compensation process.
- Maintain and extract information within the HCM.
- Provide information to internal/external customers and serve as a key point of contact for HR questions and issues.
- Ensures compliance with applicable labor laws or regulations in all HR processes.
- Other duties as assigned
- Recruiting and Employment:
- Assists in completing job requisitions, job postings (internal and external), and all other employee data forms including processes for new hires and coordination of new hire orientation. Responsible for vendor management related to applicant tracking system and job advertisements.
- Authorizes pre-employment background checks, drug and alcohol tests. Responsible for vendor management related to background checks and drug screens.
- Researches, develops, recommends, and executes creative DEI efforts in hiring and HR practices.
- Assists with employee events recruiting events, activities, projects, and presentations.
- Leads ownership and maintenance of quality control for employee personnel files.
- Completes and files annual EEO-1 report and other required annual employment filings.
- Benefits and Wellness:
- Supports the benefits administration process, including data entry, document preparation, and file maintenance.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date records in benefits administration systems.
- Assists in vendor management tasks, such as gathering quotes, coordinating meetings, and tracking contracts and agreements.
- Assists employees with leave requests, including providing information on eligibility, entitlements, and procedure.
- Collaborates with payroll and HR team members to ensure accurate and timely processing of leave-related transactions.
- Administers the fitness and education reimbursement processes, including verifying eligibility, processing reimbursement requests, and maintaining accurate records.
- Oversees the service awards process, including identifying eligible employees, tracking service milestones, and coordinating award selections.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelors degree or combination of education and experience
- 3+ years of proven experience and independent evaluation working with employment-related duties, full-cycle recruitment support, and labor legislation
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and build collaborative relationships
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent judgement and decision making skills
- Demonstrated commitment to professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality
- Ability to read, understand, and adhere to directions, policies, procedures, and requirements
- Must be able to balance multiple priorities within established timeframes and complete tasks in a timely manner
- Valid drivers license
Preferred Qualification
- Human resources-related degree or coursework
- Demonstrated success using HRIS or HCM
- Experience with federal, state, and local labor and employment laws and other applicable laws
- Experience working with all levels of an organization within a corporate setting
- Experience completing multiple, diverse tasks under tight deadlines
- Experience quickly adapting to change
License and Insurability
