General Description
The Chief of Staff, Business Development, serves as a key operational partner to the Director of Business Development, ensuring coordination, accountability, and execution across the BD organization. Responsibilities include managing communications, overseeing task tracking and follow-up, and executing high-priority initiatives that support BD effectiveness. The position requires strong organizational judgment, discretion, and the ability to operate independently while supporting internal workflows, decision-making, and communication processes.
How You Will Fulfill Your Mission
- Manage and triage the BD Director’s inbox—flagging priorities, assigning follow-ups, and coordinating next steps.
- Track action items across the BD organization, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
- Respond to internal communications on behalf of the Director when appropriate, and facilitate decision-making and task progression.
- Monitor deliverables, chase down status updates, and report progress to drive accountability.
- Jump in to execute critical tasks, including document creation, research, scheduling, or logistics.
- Maintain detailed records of meetings, decisions, action items, and follow-ups.
- Proactively flag bottlenecks and help the Director prioritize high-impact work.
- Act as a strategic thought partner on internal workflow optimization and team alignment.
- Handle sensitive communication with discretion and professionalism.

Specific Knowledge/Certification Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in operations, executive support, or program/project coordination—preferably within a BD or consulting environment.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
- Strong written communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Comfortable working with minimal direction in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Strong discretion and judgment when handling confidential or sensitive material.
