CPLC’s supportive housing services are grounded on the principle that permanent, stable housing is the foundation for success. We provide housing stability to individuals experiencing homelessness from populations which experience increased barriers to housing,
This position will require on-site work, with most of the day spent in the field conducting home visits, delivering rent subsidies, providing transportation to medical appointments, and similar tasks. Remote work may be considered on a limited basis, depending on workload and program needs.
HOW WILL YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT IN THIS ROLE?
You will assist individuals and families experiencing homelessness (as defined by HUD), to quickly secure and maintain permanent housing.
Using a Housing First approach, you will provide housing-focused case management, connect clients to rental assistance, and link them to community resources.
You will perform eligibility assessments, housing stability planning, landlord coordination, and provide ongoing support to promote long-term self-sufficiency and prevent returns to homelessness.
You will provide high needs case management services specifically for housing placement services, temporary financial assistance, conduct harm reduction activities, job placement opportunities and other supportive services.

You are able to respond effectively to staff, guests, collaborative agencies, and volunteers with questions and concerns in areas of responsibility
You are dedicated to providing services through a person-centered approach, integrating empathy, trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, and harm reduction principles
You have the ability to establish and maintain professional boundaries in working with clients
You have knowledge of community resources in the Clark County area
You have the ability to assess emergency situations and respond effectively
You can handle situations where clients may exhibit complex behaviors
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
Education /Background:
Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field or two years of experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or housing instability, particularly those with mental illness, intellectual disabilities, and/or substance abuse disorder
Working knowledge of HUD homelessness definitions, housing practices including NV Landlord Tenant Act, Fair Housing, Housing Quality Standards (HQS), and Property Management
Demonstrates positivity, self-drive, organization, and resourcefulness, upholding a reputation for being both team and client-focused, and ready to offer assistance whenever and wherever required, as evidenced by past actions
Must have an excellent command of computer software programs: Word and database software, and operate fax, copy machine and all office equipment correctly for communication purposes
Excellent written and verbal skills in the English language. Bilingual English-Spanish preferred
Must be prompt and dependable
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry systems (e.g., HMIS preferred)
Cultural competence and ability to work with diverse populations
Ability to maintain order and make effective decisions in crisis situations
Ability and willingness to perform light housekeeping and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds independently
Required to drive company or personal vehicle
Must pass background screening and clearances
