Are you a seasoned mechanic ready to take your skills to the next level? The Town of Merrimack is seeking a Mechanic II—a highly skilled professional at the master level—to keep our fleet running strong and our community moving forward.
If hired without required CDL-B, the Town will put you through our in-house CDL training program while you work and provide 6 months for you to obtain the required license . Hire rate without CDL-B is 95% of the posted rate.

Perform expert preventive maintenance and repairs on a wide range of vehicles and equipment, including:
• Automobiles & police cruisers
• Heavy-duty trucks & fire apparatus
• Emergency vehicles & construction equipment
• Tractors & small engines
• Tackle complex mechanical challenges with precision and pride.

High school degree and three years of experience, as a mechanic, maintaining and repairing a wide variety of complex mechanical machinery and equipment OR equivalent education and experience that demonstrated the possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Valid CDL-B (Commercial Drivers License) with Air Brakes and Tank endorsements. OR Applicants without CDL-B will participate in our in-house CDL Training Program and will be given 6 months to earn their CDL-B. Valid N.H. Department of Safety Vehicle Inspection Certification.
