About This Position

FACILITIES FLEET & INVENTORY MANAGER

Under the general supervision of the Executive Director of Facilities Management, the Facilities Fleet & Inventory Manager provides support and assistance to the Executive Director of Facilities Management for the operations for Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network (DWIHN) facilities.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in DWIHN contracts, including researching terms and considering stipulations and negotiations.
  • Coordinates and communicates with vendors, stakeholders, and others.
  • Maintains records and inventory for all fleet vehicles and associated equipment.
  • Analyzes, negotiates, and executes purchasing department materials and equipment
    • Assists the Facilities Executive Director in planning budgets.
    • Oversees and Reports on Department Data/Analytics
    • Assist the Facilities Executive Director in Asset Planning
    • Serves as an Administrator of the CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System).
    • Manages the DWIHN Vehicle Maintenance Program.
    • Supervises lower-level staff.
    • Assists in implementing safety and related items
    • Assists with facility expansion and the addition of new DWIHN facilities.
    • Oversees contractors to ensure that assignments are carried out to completion.
    • Performs related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

A High School Diploma, GED, or its equivalent.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

Seven (7) years of Inventory Management.

or

Five (5) years of Commercial Fleet Management.

AND

Two (2) years of facilities operations experience.

REQUIRED LICENSE(S).

A valid State of Michigan Driver’s License with a safe and acceptable driving record.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Physical Demands

This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift or move items over 25 pounds.

Travel within Wayne County and the surrounding counties is expected for this position.
