Job Description

Under the direct supervision of the Information Technology Manager, Clinical Applications, the Enterprise Imaging Administrator (EIA):

  • Manages the all inclusive functions related to the daily operations of the Radiology, Neuro Lab, Cardiology, Radiation Oncology, and the Maternal Fetal Medicine Departments, as well as the development and maintenance of the enterprise imaging solution for Ellis Medicine.
  • Will be responsible for application maintenance and replacement as well as image workflow, archiving, auto-routing and pre-fetching among other related activities.
  • Works closely with senior and front line technical staff, IT and vendors, among others to ensure uninterrupted workflow.
  • Works closely with the radiologists as well as other physician clients as he/she helps to build an enterprise imaging solution for Ellis Medicine.
  • Will also collaborate with other Directors/Service line leaders to ensure their departments IT/Imagine archival needs are being met.
  • Manages projects from start to finish ensuring successful software upgrades and implementions.

EDUCATION AN EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum of five (5) years in a PACS Analyst role, project management role, clinical applications analyst role, informatics role, or any combination of. Proven ability to support and maintain clinical applications, project management, problem solving and knowledge of HL7 and DICOM protocols. This position requires system analysis and the ability to manage medium to large scale projects. Employee must possess good written and oral communication skills. Prefer master’s degree in computer science but not required, years of experience is otherwise considered.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Should be able to push/pull, lift/move 35 lb., be able to perform moderately difficult manual manipulations such as using a keyboard, writing, and filing for extended periods of time, must be able to perform tasks which require hand-eye coordination such as data entry, typing and using photo copiers. Mobility requirements may include the ability to be stationary at a workstation for a prolonged period time in addition to being able to squat or be mobile for a reasonable length of time and distance. Communication requirements include the ability to comprehend the spoken English language in addition to being able to communicate and read the English language.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:

  • Will lead PACS relates projects associated with the growth and development of IT systems within the Ellis Medicine organization.
  • Acts as the liaison between the Director of Radiology, Director of Cardiology, Director of Maternal Fetal Medicine and the system vendors to insure the physician’s system requirements are met on a day-to-day basis.
  • Acts as a liaison between radiology, cardiology, and other departments related to medical imaging.
  • Works with and supports other staff members in the department to insure that information collected and generated is accurate for both Internal and External clinical users.
  • Assists the Department Directors with duties as assigned to insure department’s operations run optimally. These duties include budget preparation, monitoring and identifying the need for new equipment and overseeing and coordinating strategic planning for medical/clinical imaging initiatives.
  • Investigates, identifies and prepares proposals to solve specific operational problems within all clinical operational areas working closely as a liaison with the Director, Division Director and the Information Technology Department to improve the data flow among caregivers inside and outside of the institution.
  • Works closely with all imaging departments quality review process to identify future needs and design efficient workflow processes to enhance the quality of the services provided.
  • Assists with activities of vendors in all phases of installation and implementation of new systems.
  • Works collaboratively with other departments to ensure upgrades and/or equipment downtime results in minimal interruption with minimal or no issues as a result.
  • Prepares reports for administration on all aspects of medical/clinical imaging operations as appropriate or directed.
  • Attends and participates in departmental/hospital meetings. Attends seminars and training sessions necessary to maintain appropriate level of professional competence.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with clinical and technical staff to achieve common goals and address challenges.
  • Ensures all department, hospital DOH and JCAHO guidelines are met for diagnostic Barco Monitors and other equipment.
  • Assists with additional operational duties as assigned by the Information Technology Manager, Clinical Applications changes to insure quality and safety.

Salary Range: $33.71-$50.56 /hour Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
