Job Title: Pool Supervisor
Department: South Troy Pools
Location: Troy, NY
Compensation: $23-$25
Hours & Schedule: Seasonal 20-30 hours, weekend may vary
Overview of Your Role
As Pool Supervisor for Boys & Girls Clubs of the Capital Area, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of all pool patrons by monitoring the pool area and responding promptly and effectively to any incidents or emergencies. You will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized environment in and around the pool, providing swim lessons and swim team coaching, and treating the pool with the appropriate concentration of chemicals on a regular schedule.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
- Ensure rotations are being enforced in appropriate timeframes
- Providing adequate emergency and first aid response
- Oversee daily operation of the swimming pool, ensuring that it is clean, safe, and well-maintained.
- Ensure appropriate coverage for all areas of the pool and properties during operational hours and transitions to nightly security
- Ensure compliance and safety of all regulations, expectations, and laws to ensure a positive and safe community environment,
- including management of the lifeguard team, pool attendant team, and additional supports as needed.
CREDENTIALS, SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Current and valid American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
- First Aid and CPR certifications
- Experience teaching swim lessons or coaching swim team is highly desirable
- At least 2 years' of aquatic experience preferred
- Ability to pass a pre-employment practical skills test in the water
- Flexible schedule required, including weekends and holidays
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to work in outdoor environments in a variety of weather conditions
