Lock Desk/Secondary at Security National Mortgage Company – Murray, Utah

SNMC is seeking a Lock Desk/Secondary Analyst who thrives at the intersection of analytics, decision-making, and mortgage operations. This role is ideal for candidates who are either quantitatively strong (math, finance, analytics mindset) or bring hands-on mortgage pricing / secondary market experience.

You will be a key contributor to our capital markets execution, serving as the operational and analytical link between our production teams and Secondary Marketing. This position plays a direct role in managing pricing accuracy, lock policy integrity, and pipeline risk.

This is a fast-paced, high-visibility role for someone who enjoys problem solving, numbers, and being trusted to make sound decisions.

What You’ll Do

• Execute rate locks with investors while ensuring accuracy, policy compliance, and optimal execution
• Manage re-locks, extensions, lock changes, and cancellations, balancing service and margin protection
• Serve as a pricing resource for Loan Originators in complex or time-sensitive scenarios
• Enforce and interpret rate lock policies to maintain operational discipline and risk control
• Act as the primary liaison between Production and Secondary Marketing
• Monitor pipeline activity and help maintain pricing integrity across the company
• Respond to inquiries with urgency and professionalism in a deadline-driven environment
• Contribute to a culture that values accountability, responsiveness, and teamwork

Preferred Background

We welcome candidates from either of these profiles:

Mortgage Experience Track

• 1+ year Lock Desk, pricing, or secondary marketing experience or
• 3+ years broader mortgage operations experience
• Familiarity with rate lock mechanics and secondary market execution

Analytical / Quantitative Track

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Math, Business Analytics, or similar field
• Strong academic or practical foundation in numbers and data-driven decisions

Additional Plus Factors

• Experience with Polly and Encompass
• Working knowledge of the secondary mortgage market
• Prior exposure to capital markets, trading, pricing, or risk management environments

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• Must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 15 lbs.
• Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
• Must be able to sit for prolonged periods at a desk, while working on a computer.
