The Director, Author Expertise & Success will shape the strategy for engaging and empowering a global community of technology experts.
This senior leader will strengthen relationships with authors while elevating their expertise and influence across customers, prospects, and the broader technology ecosystem.
The role combines communications, community building, thought leadership, events, and strategic expert programs.
You will oversee initiatives that attract, engage, develop, and retain a world-class network of technology professionals.
The position works closely with Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Product, Learning Experiences, and executive leadership to turn expert knowledge into business impact.
You will also lead a multidisciplinary team and cultivate an environment centered on creativity, operational excellence, technical expertise, and continuous improvement.

- Develop and execute a comprehensive Author Success & Engagement strategy, including a compelling value proposition designed to attract, engage, develop, and retain a global community of technology experts.
- Create scalable programs that elevate authors as trusted voices with customers, prospects, and the wider technology community.
- Lead and evolve a distinguished expert program, developing top technology experts into strategic advisors, customer-facing evangelists, and influential industry voices while aligning their contributions with business and learning priorities.
- Build engagement programs, communities, recognition initiatives, feedback mechanisms, and events that strengthen belonging, deepen relationships, and ensure expert insights inform learning strategies and experiences.
- Own the strategy for expert communications and experiences, delivering clear, consistent, transparent, and engaging communications throughout the author lifecycle.
- Partner with Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Product, Learning Experiences, and executive leadership to integrate expert knowledge into strategic customer engagements, thought leadership, executive conversations, and revenue-generating initiatives.
- Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary team spanning communications, community management, creative professionals, and distinguished technology experts.
- Establish an environment that balances creativity, technical expertise, operational excellence, collaboration, and measurable business outcomes.
- Continuously evaluate engagement strategies, gather feedback, and identify opportunities to improve the expert experience and strengthen business impact.
- 10+ years of professional experience in communications, community management, public relations, or a related field.
- 6+ years of management or leadership experience, ideally overseeing multidisciplinary or globally distributed teams.
- Proven experience developing strategic communications, executive messaging, thought leadership, and compelling narratives.
- Demonstrated success partnering with Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Product, and executive leadership on complex cross-functional initiatives.
- Experience operating within a product-focused organization and understanding how content and human expertise contribute to customer value, competitive differentiation, and business growth.
- Proven ability to build relationships with senior subject matter experts, technology leaders, thought leaders, or influential contributors whose impact extends beyond traditional organizational structures.
- Strong strategic thinking combined with operational discipline and the ability to translate vision into consistently high-quality execution.
- Strong understanding of technology and emerging trends, particularly in areas such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity, software development, and enterprise technology.
- Excellent communication, storytelling, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.
- A collaborative, self-aware, curious, and proactive leadership style, with a willingness to experiment, learn from mistakes, ask questions, provide feedback, and continuously improve.
- Ability to foster inclusive communities and create an environment where diverse perspectives and individual contributions are valued.
- Strong ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of execution and measurable results.
- Comfortable working remotely and collaborating across distributed teams; candidates located within 45 miles of the Dallas–Fort Worth-area office should be prepared to work onsite Tuesday through Thursday, with remote flexibility on Mondays and Fridays.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience is advantageous.
- Annual U.S. base salary range of $148,200–$195,000, with actual compensation determined by factors including location, skills, and experience.
