About the Location

VOX Kitchen is a fusion concept inspired by Chifa cuisine. Our South Coast Plaza team is looking for friendly, dependable individuals who enjoy hospitality and working in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Position Summary

We are hiring for two separate positions:

• Host: Welcome guests, manage the waitlist, and coordinate seating to create a positive dining experience.

• Floor Assistant: Support the service team with food delivery, guest assistance, table clearing, and dining room upkeep.

Key Responsibilities

Host

• Welcome arriving guests warmly, escort them to their tables, present menus, and introduce their assigned server.

• Manage the waitlist, communicate accurate wait times, and coordinate seating based on reservations, table availability, and guest preferences.

• Inform guests of current promotions and communicate their needs to the service team.

• Answer incoming calls, respond to guest inquiries, and assist with to-go orders as needed.

• Stay attentive to guest needs and assist with replenishing water, serving beverages, and setting or clearing tables.

• Follow sanitation, safety, and alcohol service policies.

• Thank departing guests and provide a warm farewell.

• Assist with food preparation and other assigned tasks as needed.

Floor Assistant

• Receive the assigned service area at the beginning of each shift and greet guests promptly as they are seated.

• Maintain knowledge of the food and beverage menus to answer guest questions.

• Deliver food promptly and accurately, replenish water, serve beverages, and respond to guest requests.

• Remove used tableware between courses and provide clean utensils as needed.

• Clear tables and bring dishes, glassware, and silverware to the appropriate dishwashing areas.

• Clean tabletops, chairs, and booths; check and clean surrounding floors; and reset tables between seatings.

• Follow proper bar procedures, including first-in, first-out (FIFO) practices.

• Support the restaurant team to maintain smooth and efficient service.

• Thank departing guests, attend scheduled team meetings, and assist with food preparation or other assigned duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Friendly attitude and a commitment to providing excellent guest service.

• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.

• Ability to stay attentive and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Six months to one year of relevant restaurant experience preferred.

• Food Handler Card required (paid training available); Responsible Beverage Service certification if required for assigned duties.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform duties involving reaching, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Knowledge of basic sanitation and safe food-handling practices.
