Location: Columbia, MD (Hybrid/Remote – MON & WED in the office)

Job Overview:

Cogent People Inc. is seeking a Container Infrastructure Engineer to support a mission-critical large-scale system serving the Federal Government in the healthcare domain. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Containerization technologies (OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD, and scripting languages (Shell, Python, Java).

Responsibilities:

· Enhance the feature set of existing OpenShift platform across multiple environments.

· Serve as OpenShift SME (Subject-Matter Expert).

· Install, maintain, and operationalize OpenShift Operators.

· Assist with DevSecOps automation.

· Support development teams with containerization, infrastructure, and deployments.

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

· 3+ years of direct experience with RedHat OpenShift containerization platform.

· 5+ years of experience with AWS.

· Proven experience with scripting (bash, PowerShell, Python, Java).

· Experience with DevSecOps practices, CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins), observability tools.

· Understanding of event platforms such as Kafka.

· Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality and accurate work.

· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

· Proven ability to manage time and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

· Proven ability to work independently and as part of the team.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience in federal government programs, or regulated environments (CMS experience is preferred).

· Relevant certifications (AWS, OpenShift) are a plus.
