Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Biological, Chemical, and Environmental Sciences (BCES) department at Wheaton College is seeking applicants for a one-semester Affiliated Instructor teaching position for the Spring 2027 semester. The teaching responsibilities will be two Human Anatomy and Physiology I laboratories, one held on Wednesdays from 2:00 – 4:50pm and the other held on Tuesdays from 11:00 am – 1:50pm. We are especially interested in candidates with anatomy and physiology teaching experience.

Responsibilities of the Instructor include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Teaching effectively in an in-person environment that fosters meaningful student-faculty interaction.
• Grading assignments in a timely manner and posting grades in Canvas.
• Holding regular office hours and being responsive to student needs.

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications are an M.S. with teaching experience or a Ph.D. at the time of appointment.

When determining and establishing hiring rates or recruitment ranges for a position, the College considers a number of factors including the budget for the position, the range of the grade, the external market for the position or similar positions, level and scope of responsibilities, required education, skills and relevant experience as well as internal equity. All salary offers must have the prior approval of the Office of Human Resources.

The anticipated hiring or recruitment range for this position is $5K/course. The actual salary offered will be commensurate with the qualifications, education and experience of the candidate hired.
