Salary Range: $55,000.00 To $75,000.00 Annually (Actual offer will be determined by the candidate's relevant skills, education, and experience)

Job Summary

The Human Resources Generalist is located at Marwin’s Columbia, South Carolina facility and reports directly to the Director of Human Resources. This role requires to be onsite Monday - Friday;. The schedule for this role is 8:00am to 5:00pm. This role may also provide support to nearby facilities when needed.

We are seeking a dynamic and process-oriented HR Generalist to join our team. In this role, you will partner with our HR team and interact with all levels of our organization to drive engagement, manage essential HR functions, and champion our company culture.

What You Will Do

As an HR Generalist, you will be the go-to resource for a wide variety of HR functions. Your responsibilities will span across compliance, employee experience, and strategic talent development.

  • Core HR Operations: Execute daily HR transactions including recruiting, onboarding, payroll, status changes, and terminations. Ensure compliance with core HR operations, leave of absence (LOA) processes, and safety credentials.
  • Culture & Engagement: Act as a culture champion. "Walk the floor" to remain approachable, solicit feedback, and ensure leaders balance metric-driving with empathy. Manage the Annual Employee Survey and Engagement Event Committees.
  • Compliance & Accommodations: Guide employees through ADA and LOA processes, ensuring reasonable accommodations are handled appropriately. Maintain compliance with all US Labor Laws.
  • Talent & Performance Management: Oversee the Annual Performance Review process. Identify high-potential talent for career pathing, address underperforming talent, and analyze turnover data to develop retention strategies.
  • Training & Development: Host human-centered trainings for leaders, Inclusion & Diversity workshops, and skill-building sessions for employees. Ensure new hires receive a comprehensive Day 1 onboarding experience.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Attend weekly Production Meetings and GEMBA walks. Shadow departmental leaders (Managers, Supervisors, Finance) to build alliances and understand day-to-day operations.
  • Community Impact: Coordinate employee engagement activities, organize local community outreach events, and highlight these efforts on company social media channels.
  • Employee Relations: Review open investigations, conduct organizational health reviews, facilitate employee roundtables, and perform exit interviews to gather actionable feedback.

What You Bring to the Team

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources (or a related field) and/or equivalent experience, with a minimum of two years of related HR experience.
  • Certifications: SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, and/or SPHR certification is highly preferred.
  • HR Knowledge: Strong understanding of US Labor Laws, including FLSA, OSHA, FMLA, EEOC, and ADA. Prior experience developing and implementing training programs.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), ADP, and Paycom.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication, a positive attitude, and the ability to provide (and receive) effective feedback.
  • Work Style: A self-starter with a team-oriented mindset. You must be able to maintain high standards of confidentiality, manage time effectively under pressure, and navigate shifting priorities with a sense of urgency.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to walk and stand for long periods at a time when speaking to employees in the plant.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
