Job Description

Position Summary: The Credit Manager is responsible for overseeing the operation of the Credit

Department, which supports the Bank's underwriting function for new and existing loans, and

facilitates portfolio management requirements, under the guidelines of Bank's Credit Policy. This

includes regular communication with Relationship Managers to effectively direct and coordinate

commercial credit workflow requests comprising primarily of financial spreading or loan

underwriting, as well as financial statement tracking and collection, along with covenant

calculation and compliance. Ongoing credit training and professional development of Credit

Analysts is an integral part of the Department's function and the responsibility of the Credit

Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1) Coordinate and assign underwriting requests for new loan opportunities, annual reviews,

renewals, and modifications for commercial and industrial businesses and commercial real

estate entities. These requests will be completed by Credit Analysts and, when appropriate,

the Credit Manager. Manage, track, and report on the Department Workflow Report, with

monthly submission to management.

2) Oversee approval process for Business Express applications to comply with Business

Express Policies and Procedures. This entails review of loan package and completed

application, and consideration of the loan request, along with communication to RM's and

Loan Administration of the score result. Daily tracking and maintenance of this workflow

is required along with monthly report submission to management.

3) Supervise Credit Analysts and workflow. The Credit Manager will work regularly with

Credit Analysts to confirm that underwriting assignments are clearly understood, including

discussion of the transaction, identification of credit risks, and determination of the

appropriate underwriting approach based on the complexity of the request. Credit Manager

will review Credit Analysts' work to ensure quality and have follow-up discussions, if

necessary, to address any issues. Weekly group status meetings will be held to monitor

production and discuss loan activity, including highlights of standard and more complex

loan structures.

4) Ongoing training and development of Credit Analysts to reinforce fundamentals of credit

analysis for both commercial and industrial and investment real estate entities. Credit

Manager will create a list of credit and/or lending topics, from which one topic will be

presented and discussed with the Department on a monthly meeting basis. Discuss

Analysts' professional progress through monthly one-on-one meetings including review of

Analyst Underwriting Evaluation form (to be immediately implemented).

5) Form a strategy to reduce past due Annual Reviews. Verify status of financial information

in credit files, informing Relationship Managers and planning next steps to process the

review. Provide monthly status to Credit Officer. With the ultimate goal to bring Annual

Reviews current and manage proactively, going forward.

6) Monthly tracking and maintenance of Borrower Financial Statement Tickler Report and

Financial Covenant Tracking Report, along with calculation and compliance. Follow-up

with Relationship Managers to obtain required information, and prepare and process the

Financial Statement Cover Memo.

7) Attain proficiency in Global Wave spreading system (including financial spreading,

global cash flows and rent roll modules, among others as needed) and fluency in Bank's

Credit Policy, particularly with legal lending limit thresholds, general authority approval

levels, and underwriting guidelines among other policies.

8) Assist Chief Credit Officer with coordination of loan portfolio reviews, audits and

regulatory reviews throughout the year.

9) Attend customer calls / meetings when appropriate, among other duties when needed.

10) Good verbal and written communication skills and adequate familiarity with MS Word and

Excel.

Requirements:

1. Has been credit-trained and has at least 7 years' credit or lending experience.

2. Strong organizational, management, communication, and analytical skills.

3. Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
