Job Description

Position Description:
Who We Are
Hispanic Federation (HF) is the nation's premier Latino nonprofit membership organization. Founded in 1990, HF supports Hispanic families and strengthens Latino institutions through grantmaking and direct services in the areas of education, health, immigration, civic engagement, economic empowerment and the environment. Values that drive our work include equality, fairness, diversity and empathy.

Who We Seek
Hispanic Federation seeks a Vice President for Finance to direct the organization's financial operations and serve as an integral member of the senior leadership team. The VP for Finance will establish and enforce robust fiscal protocols, oversee the precise execution of programmatic budgets, and maintain uncompromising compliance across all private and public funding streams. Public funding streams are comprised of local, state, and federal government contracts and require partnership with HF's compliance, development, programs, and administration teams.
The ideal candidate is a mission-driven leader with proven experience managing a large, diverse team of nonprofit accounting professionals and directing a complex, multimillion-dollar operating budget. A deep commitment to advancing HF’s mission and supporting its network of member agencies is essential.
This position is based at HF’s New York City Headquarters and operates on a hybrid model requiring an onsite presence at least 50% of the time.

  • Collaborate with the Development team to build accurate, compelling grant budgets and financial narratives for institutional foundation, corporate, and government proposals.
  • Manage post-award grant accounting, tracking restricted vs. unrestricted funding allocations to ensure precise donor reporting and compliance with grant terms.
