Job Description

Financial Reporting Analyst

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Financial Reporting Analyst in Canada.

This role offers a unique opportunity to deepen expertise in public company reporting while working in a fast-growing, advisory-focused environment supporting listed clients across multiple industries. You will take ownership of financial reporting deliverables, including quarterly and annual statements, while gaining exposure to complex accounting, IPO preparation, and strategic advisory work. The position is highly hands-on and designed for professionals who want to build strong technical IFRS capabilities while working closely with experienced designated accountants. You will operate in a remote-first, collaborative setting where autonomy, learning, and professional growth are strongly encouraged. A key aspect of the role is supporting multiple client files, allowing you to build breadth across industries and reporting structures. This is a career-building opportunity with clear pathways toward senior leadership roles in financial reporting and advisory services.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and delivering high-quality financial reporting and advisory services for a portfolio of public company clients, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution of reporting obligations. You will work closely with senior professionals to interpret accounting standards and contribute to complex financial and strategic projects.

  • Prepare draft quarterly and annual financial statements and related Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A).
  • Support clients with financial reporting requirements across multiple industries and public listings.
  • Assist in IPO preparation, including prospectus development and related reporting documentation.
  • Conduct accounting research and interpret IFRS standards to support complex financial reporting decisions.
  • Contribute to ERP implementation projects, budgeting, forecasting, and cost accounting initiatives.
  • Support valuation analysis and coordination activities for client engagements.
  • Work closely with senior accountants and advisory teams to ensure accuracy and compliance in reporting.
  • Manage multiple client files while maintaining strong attention to detail and deadlines.
Requirements:

This role requires strong financial reporting experience, ideally within public company environments, along with solid technical accounting expertise and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced advisory setting. You are analytical, curious, and comfortable navigating complex IFRS challenges while collaborating with clients and internal teams.

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent qualification required.
  • Experience in public company auditing and/or financial reporting for small to mid-sized organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, particularly complex areas such as debt and equity financing transactions.
  • Ability to research and interpret accounting standards independently to resolve technical issues.
  • Experience working with listed companies or regulated reporting environments is highly valued.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Comfortable managing multiple client files in an autonomous, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with client-facing experience.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a supportive team structure.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with adaptability and eagerness to learn.
Benefits:
  • Annual salary of approximately $90,000 CAD.
  • Permanent remote work arrangement with full flexibility.
  • 40-hour work week with strong emphasis on work-life balance.
  • Full coverage of CPA tuition, annual dues, and professional development costs.
  • No repayment requirement for education or training support.
  • Extended health benefits and maternity leave coverage starting on day one.
  • Exposure to IPOs, listed companies, and complex financial reporting environments.
  • Strong career development pathways into senior, supervisor, and managerial roles.
  • Supportive, collaborative team culture focused on mentorship and continuous learning.
