Job Description

STAFFING RESOURCE COORDINATOR

GENERAL SUMMARY/BASIC PURPOSE OF JOB:

The Staffing Resource Coordinator is responsible for maintaining staffing and scheduling information for designated clinical areas/departments. Effectively communicates and collaborates with formal and informal leaders to anticipate and meet daily staffing needs based on acuity, patient care needs, and census. Maintains staffing office records in accordance with office standards and policies. Serves as a functional specialist with the Staff Scheduling System. Responsible for maintaining current and accurate staffing and scheduling information for designated clinical areas/departments, personnel (staff and agency); file maintenance and agency invoice processing/ tracking. Effectively communicates and collaborates to anticipate meeting daily staffing needs based on acuity, patient care needs, and census. Reviews and edits payroll time records for designated cost centers under the direction of the System Director of Patient Transfer and Navigation Center, as applicable to guidelines, practices, and policies. Generates reports as required by the System Director using Microsoft Excel, Word or Access and other analytic software; serves as an expert user of API scheduling system and consults with nursing leadership on productivity variances.

MINIMUM Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • 1–2 years prior staffing in a healthcare setting or closely related experience
  • 1–2 years prior payroll experience
  • 2 years prior experience working with computerized systems

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to work functions
  • Knowledge of nursing unit functions and medical terminology
  • Successfully complete mathematical calculations for decision-making purposes, reports, and schedules
  • Demonstrated skill in use of multi-line phone, copy machine, fax machine, email, and internet
  • Ability to prioritize work demands and work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to evaluate, prioritize, and problem-solve in complex situations
  • Ability to develop, organize, and maintain office systems (alphabetical filing, record keeping, etc.)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High sensitivity to maintaining confidentiality for employee and patient information
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with other departments and personnel
  • Ability to assist departments with staff scheduling system.
