Requirements:

Position Overview

Hickory Farms is excited to launch a Content Marketing Internship designed to offer hands-on experience in social media content creation. This paid internship provides a meaningful opportunity to work directly with our marketing team, gain exposure to digital marketing content creation tools, and contribute to our paid media strategy. It's a great opportunity for someone who loves storytelling, understands platform trends, and wants real experience building content that performs.

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation

  • Produce original short-form video content from concept to the final asset, including filming, editing, voiceover, and captioning
  • Edit raw footage and assets into organic and paid content variations using tools like CapCut or Instagram Edits
  • Support paid and organic social strategy, including ideation and asset variations for A/B testing
  • Write engaging, on-brand captions tailored to each platform and campaign goal
  • Partner with the marketing team on campaign briefs, shoots, and creative brainstorms

UGC Content Management

  • Source and vet potential content creator partners
  • Draft creative briefs for content creators
  • Help manage creator relationships, timelines, and content delivery

Trend Monitoring & Reporting

  • Stay ahead of platform trends and best practices
  • Monitor performance metrics on published content and share insights

Ideal Candidate

  • Currently enrolled or recently graduated college student (preferably majoring in Marketing, Communications, Media, or a related field)
  • A strong eye for visual storytelling and an understanding of what makes content "scroll-stopping"
  • Comfort with content creation/editing tools (Canva, CapCut, Instagram Edits, or similar)
  • Familiarity with major social platforms and their content formats (Reels, Shorts, Stories, carousels, etc.)
  • Passionate about food, gifting, and building brands people love

Schedule & Compensation

  • $26/hour, 10–20 hours per week
  • Flexible work hours based on student’s availability
  • Hickory Farms Chicago office preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on the telephone.
