Work Schedule: Full time, in a production environment

You will assist with running the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including recruiting, assisting staff with benefits and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. The HR Generalist is expected to be a conceptual thinker with fantastic organizational and conflict management skill, excellent negotiation, and problem-solving skills with the ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Be a partner to the Human Resources Manager for all internal and external HR related matters
- Implement new hire orientation
- Review, track, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
- Acquire background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the Human Resources Manager.
- Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, productivity, recognition, morale, occupational health and safety, and training and development.
- Backup to Human Resources Manager in the capacity of keeping the HR department running smoothly
- Must demonstrate sound judgment and the ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive HR matters, employee records, and proprietary company information.

Required Skills and Abilities:
- Energetic, mature, empathetic, and positive with a self-driven approach to problem solving.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess situations and achieve positive outcomes.
- Familiarity with social media recruiting and innovative sourcing techniques.
- Proven knowledge of professional communications, strategic reasoning, teamwork, change management, and business ethics.
Education and Experience:
- 3+ years of experience successfully managing core HR functions, including recruiting, training, and compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Multi-State Payroll experience a plus!
- SHRM-SCP a plus!
