SUMMARY:
We are looking for a talented HR Generalist to join our team in Wichita, KS, 5 days a week onsite.
Position Summary:
The Human Resources Generalist/Recruiter is responsible for supporting the organization's human resources functions while leading the full-cycle recruitment process. This role serves as a trusted resource for employees and managers by administering HR programs, ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies, managing employee relations matters, and attracting top talent to support organizational growth. The ideal candidate is highly organized, people-focused, and capable of balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Recruiting (Approximately 40-50%)
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle for exempt and non-exempt positions.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop recruiting strategies.
- Prepare and post job advertisements on internal and external job boards.
- Source candidates using job boards, LinkedIn, employee referrals, networking, and other recruiting channels.
- Screen resumes and conduct phone interviews.
- Coordinate interviews with hiring managers.
- Conduct reference checks and background screenings.
- Prepare and extend employment offers.
- Coordinate pre-employment testing as required.
- Maintain applicant tracking system (ATS) and candidate records.
- Develop talent pipelines for difficult-to-fill positions.
- Participate in job fairs, recruiting events, and community outreach activities.
- Monitor recruiting metrics including time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, and source effectiveness.
- Support employer branding initiatives.
Human Resources Generalist (Approximately 50-60%) – Operations/Wichita & surrounding locations as needed
Employee Relations
- Respond to employee questions regarding policies, benefits, and HR procedures.
- Assist managers with employee coaching, counseling, and performance concerns.
- Conduct workplace investigations as assigned.
- Support conflict resolution and employee engagement initiatives.
Onboarding & Offboarding
- Coordinate new hire onboarding and orientation.
- Ensure completion of employment documentation.
Performance Management
- Support managers with performance improvement plans.
- Track review completion and documentation – in conjunction with BP
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Assist with policy development and updates as needed.
- Support OSHA, FMLA, ADA, Workers' Compensation, and unemployment administration as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee information.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Experience
- 5+ years of Human Resources Generalist experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of full-cycle recruiting experience.
- Experience recruiting for exempt and non-exempt positions preferred.
- Manufacturing, transportation, logistics, or distribution industry experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HRIS platforms.
- Excellent interviewing and candidate assessment skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter and online sourcing techniques preferred.
