We build secure, instant payment solutions that connect our clients to their customers, wherever money is in motion. Our products include banking, credit and disbursement services, earned wage access, gifts, incentives and rewards, and FX solutions. We operate in more than 25 countries, we combine the energy of a start-up with deep leadership experience
About the Role
As a Group Product Manager you will lead a team of Product Managers responsible for our Workforce Solutions product vertical within EML's portfolio. Our Government Solutions vertical focusses on building innovative payment solutions for the public sector, enabling central government, local authorities, and agencies to disburse funds to citizens, recipients, and programmes with the controls, auditability, and reporting the sector demands. This is a player-coach role; you are accountable for the strategic direction, delivery performance, and commercial outcomes of your vertical, while also building, managing, and developing the PMs within it.
You set the standard for what end-to-end product ownership looks like at EML. Your team looks to you for clarity on where to focus, how to make trade-offs, and what good looks like. Your peers in engineering, design, commercial, and compliance look to you as the accountable product voice for your vertical. This role requires someone who can operate at both the strategic and operational level - setting the vision one moment and unblocking a squad the next.
What you will do
- Define and own the product strategy, vision and roadmap for your product vertical, ensuring alignment with EML's broader business objectives.
- Identify market opportunities, industry trends and customer needs to drive product innovation, differentiation and commercial growth.
- Lead, coach and develop a team of Product Managers, creating a high-performing culture built on accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Drive customer-centric product discovery, ensuring teams validate problems, prioritise effectively and focus on delivering measurable outcomes.
- Partner closely with Engineering, Design, Commercial and Operations teams to deliver customer value and achieve strategic objectives.
- Make informed product investment and prioritisation decisions, balancing customer value, commercial impact, risk and technical considerations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners and industry stakeholders, incorporating market feedback into product strategy.
- Oversee the successful launch, adoption and performance of products, ensuring delivery against business objectives and customer expectations.
- Define and monitor product KPIs, using data and insights to optimise performance, measure success and inform future investment decisions.
- Ensure products meet regulatory, scheme and risk requirements across relevant markets and jurisdictions.
- Partner with Product Marketing and Commercial teams to develop effective go-to-market strategies that maximise customer adoption and revenue growth.
- Contribute to the development of product practices, operating models and ways of working across the wider Product function.
- Collaborate with Product leadership to shape organisational design, workforce planning and the future direction of the Product organisation.
- Act as a senior product leader, influencing strategic decisions and championing best practice across EML.
What you will bring
- 8+ years of product management experience, including at least 2 years managing or leading other product managers.
- Significant experience in payments, card issuing, transaction processing, or financial services, with a strong understanding of the commercial and regulatory landscape.
- Demonstrated ability to build, develop, and retain high-performing product teams.
- Strong strategic thinking with the ability to set direction for a product vertical and connect it to business outcomes.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging C-suite executives, enterprise clients, and external partners.
- Commercial acumen — ability to understand revenue drivers, client economics, and competitive dynamics within the payments industry.
- Experience operating across multiple geographies and navigating multi-market complexity.
What we offer you
- 25 days' annual leave, with an additional 5 days available once your annual leave is used
- Paid birthday leave and 2 paid volunteering days a year
- Enhanced parental leave: 12 weeks for primary carers and 4 weeks for secondary carers
- Private medical insurance fully covered by EML, including 24/7 GP phone and video access, specialist consultations, diagnostics and treatment
- An Employee Assistance Programme with up to 6 confidential counselling sessions a year
- A workplace pension scheme with company contributions 5% and employee minimum 3%, salary sacrifice scheme also available
- Income protection of up to 75% of salary and life insurance at 4× annual salary
- A Cycle to Work scheme through tax-efficient salary sacrifice
